Description:Casa Yamulkan, an open and easy beach house that is the perfect space for friends and family seeking a sophisticated, comfortable retreat, on the soft sand beach on Soliman Bay.
Casa Yamulkan is a sturdy stucco beach house with a thatched (palapa) roof. The main level includes a fully equipped kitchen and dining area which lead onto the living area. This area opens to a lovely beachside terrace spanning the main level. The very spacious beachside terrace, with its coconut trees and fringed by local palms, is furnished for outdoor dining and comfortable lounging. The main level is spacious and airy, drawing on the tropical hideaway theme with rich hardwoods and the palapa roof soaring 18 feet into the air.
Casa Yamulkan sits just forty feet from the water's edge along the incredible sand beach of Solimon Bay. This large crescent shaped bay with its amazing aquamarine waters is home to only a few private beach homes and is never crowded. An outer barrier reef protects the bay, keeping the water calm and making a perfect haven for tropical fish, manta rays and other marine life. Solimon Bay is therefore excellent for snorkeling and sea kayaking. On the beach, Casa Yamulkan guests enjoy a shade palapa furnished with hammocks and lounge chairs for relaxing and enjoying the fabulous view.
Casa Yamulkan sleeps 10 in full comfort. On the main level are two air-conditioned bedrooms, both of traditional stucco construction. Each of those bedrooms is furnished with a king-size bed and has its own bath. Additionally there is a television room (with a fold out couch) which can double as a sleeping room for large groups. Here you can enjoy SKY satellite television programming, or listen to music on the CD player. Wireless Internet is available with pre-paid connection cards (available on site).
On the upper level (covered by the lofty palapa) there are two attractive sleeping areas sharing a bathroom, one with a double bed and the other with two twin beds. They have great breezes coming through and views of the emerald green vegetation and coastline off in the distance. Both bedroom areas are furnished with ceiling fans hanging from the palapa, and look down onto the living/dining room area, perfect for the younger members of the group.
There is also a very spacious sleeping area with its own private entrance just off the upstairs veranda. This room, with large windows that catch the breeze, is private for guests seeking a little solitude from the main house. It is furnished with a queen bed, a mahogany writing table and chairs, and a sofa and coffee table, and has a comfortable bathroom with shower and its own terrace with table and chairs offering a marvelous view of Soliman bay. The roof is palapa so there is a ceiling fan rather than air conditioning.
If necessary, guests can use a separate little second-floor apartment by the road, with its own kitchen and palapa-covered terrace.
There are two kayaks for those who want to be energetic, and three charming dogs who come with the house. A new gas grill is also available for guest use.
