Health and Fitness (Yoga Classes)
ATM
An
ATM machine is available in Akumal at the Super Chomak grocery store,
El Pueblito grocery store (both located at the entrance) and also Lol Ha
restaurant. The next nearest ATM is at Bahia Principe's Hacienda
shopping mall. ATM's are also located in Playa del Carmen at banks and
Super Markets and in Tulum. ATM's provide funds in Mexican Pesos at the bank's
daily exchange rate. Usage fees can be high.
Babysitting Services
Babysitting services are available through Akumal Kids!.
They offer in-room or in-villa babysitters and short term nannies in
most locations in the Akumal area between Puerto Aventuras and Tulum.
Rates are from US $7/hour with group and longer term rates available.
Great for weddings, family gatherings, or even just to give parents

Churches
Akumal Pueblo is home to one Catholic Church which offers mass each Monday at 5:00 PM. Mass is in Spanish.

Carmen, Akumal and Tulum. In Akumal, the Casa de Cambio is located in
the Travel Services of Akumal building, near the Original Akumal Dive

Sign up one day prior for dives if possible. "Robinson Crusoe" boat
tours. Located on Akumal Bay, near the CEA (North End).

Akumal Dive Center on
Akumal Bay. Personalized service and daily diving. Night dives,
equipment rental and sea kayaks available. Located on the beach of
Akumal Bay just south of the Lol Ha Restaurant.

Blue Photo Akumal - Located in the Akumal Dive Center and offers professional photograhpy services for diving and snorkeing as well as rent underwater cameras. Photographer or rental includes editing services which enhance the clarity of the underwater pictures. They also rent dry bags for snorkeling with your own digital camera. Open Monday to Saturday 8:30am-5:00pm.
Akumal Dive Adventures Offering snorkeling trips, daily reef diving, instruction, cavern diving and personalized service. Located next to La Buena Vida on Half Moon Bay. Open Daily 8:30 AM. Credit Cards Accepted.
Dive with Natalie and Ivan. A local couple offering personalised guided diving and courses for divers of all levels of experience. Both Natalie and Ivan are PADI Master Scuba Instructors.
Golf Cart and Bicycle Rental
Two
and four passenger golf carts, bicycles and rental cars are available
for rent. These are a perfect way to get around. For more information

There is another good gym in Puerto Aventuras (15mins north of Akumal) at the Omni Hotel. They offer a monthly membership of 690pesos (about US$60) for use of the gym and many of the hotel facilities between 7am and 8pm daily, and if you are only planning to use the gym in the afternoons, the membership is 299 pesos per month (about US$25) from 3pm-8pm daily. Internet Cafe Te Latte internet cafe is open on the beach next door to Lol Ha restaurant. Serving home made italian gelato ice cream, pastries, and "the best coffee in town"! Open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday. Next to the cafe is also the excellent "Loquitos" taco bar.
El Pueblito grocery store (opposite Super Chomak and next to Remax and Mulgrew Laundry at the entrance to Akumal) also now has an internet cafe with several machines. Open 7am -9pm daily.

Lavanderia same day service available if delivered by 8:00 AM. Price
per kilo for wash, dry and fold. Located next to Mini Super El Pueblito
(near the Basketball court and across from the Super Chomak). Open 7 am
to 1 pm & 5 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Saturday. Does not accept
credit cards.
Groceries and Supplies

Super Chomak is located just at the entry to Akumal. A large selection of imported products, plus liquor, beer and wine. Swim wear, sandals and other things you might find you need and don't have. Open 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Daily. No liquor sales after 3:00 PM on Sundays. Credit Cards Accepted.
El Pueblito Located across from Super Chomak, just next to the Mulgrew Lavanderia. Good selection, better priced in many cases. Open 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Daily. No liquor sales after 3:00 PM on Sundays. Credit Cards Accepted.
We recommend purchasing the bulk of your groceries and supplies in Playa del Carmen at any of the major retailers there.

available for walk-in visits or House Calls. Located along the main
avenue of Akumal Pueblo at the top of the hill. Next to the Drugstore de

Dr Nestor Mendoza Gutierrez has opened a brand new 24-hour medical center complete with pharmacy in the Akumal Pueblo. It has an emergency room, 2 sleep-in observation rooms with private bathrooms, a consulting room, and a pharmacy. He will also be adding an x-ray and ultrasound facility. The Medical Center is manned 24 hours a day by a team of doctors, and there will also be weekly clinics with a pediatrician and gynecologist. The Medical Center and pharmacy are located on the main street in the pueblo one block past the police station. For the most product availability and best prices we recommend the Soriana or Chedraui pharmacies in Playa del Carmen or Cancun.
