Casa Gatos offers a selection on one, two, or three bedroom units, just one block from Yal-Ku Lagoon, or the beaches of Half Moon Bay in a very private and quiet location. This is our favorite choice for accommodations in this price range. Very charming, beautifully decorated, and a great deal!

Description:

Casa Gatos is a unique and very special property. This is a reasonably priced option that guests return to year after year. Casa Gatos is on an interior property, located just next to Que Onda Italian Restaurant and Hotel. Yal-Ku Lagoon and your first access to the beach of Half Moon Bay are both approximately two blocks away.

Casa Gatos offers two one-bedroom units (upper and lower levels) and one large split-level, three-bedroom unit that can be also rented as two separate units (one bedroom on the ground floor and two bedrooms on the upper floor). A very charming and well-furnished courtyard separates the two sides.

The entrance to Casa Gatos is enchanting. An impressive hand fit stonewall and garden gate protect the tranquility and privacy of guests. A small goldfish and turtle pond greets you as you enter the patio area.

The upper level unit is a spacious one bedroom with a cute and well equipped kitchen. This unit is furnished with one double bed and one single bed. There is air conditioning and satellite television here as well. A small covered patio off of the kitchen makes a great spot to enjoy the fresh air of early morning or late afternoon.

The large three-bedroom unit offers over 2250 square feet of living space. The design is fresh and incorporates natural stone and tropical hardwoods. Marble floors bring a little elegance to this comfortable and attractive space. The lower level consists of a very large and well-equipped kitchen, dining area and large living area. Full-length windows let in lot of light and offer a nice field of view over the green of the courtyard. The lower level bedroom room is furnished with a king sized bed and a large and interesting bath. A stairway of tropical hardwood will take you to the upper floor and beyond to the roof top observatory where you can watch the ocean and the stars.

On the second level you will find the principal bedroom with king bed and a beautiful oriental daybed with an ensuite doorway to the bathroom. The guest room boasts a queen sized bed, Satellite TV with DVD and a fabulous palapa covered private terrace looking out over the manicured tropical gardens below. There is also a light and airy new kitchen on the upper level, allowing this villa to be either rented as a 2 storey 3 bedroom home, or split into a self contained one bedroom condo on the lower level, and a 2 bedroom, one bath condo on the upper floor.  These units can be separated or joined by way of a locking wooden door at the top of the internal staircase.

Casa Gatos features beautiful decor from around the world, and wonderful attention to detail.  There is no nicer accommodation in Akumal in this price range!
