ATM
An ATM machine is available in Akumal at the Super Chomak grocery store, El Pueblito grocery store (both located at the entrance) and also Lol Ha restaurant. the next nearest ATM is at Bahia Principe's Hacienda shopping mall. ATM's are also located in Playa del Carmen at banks and Super Markets and in Tulum. ATM's provide funds in Mexican Pesos at bank daily exchange rate. Usage fees can be high.

Churches
Akumal Pueblo is home to one Catholic Church which offers mass each Monday at 5:00 PM. Mass is in Spanish.
Currency Exchange
Currency Exchanges or "Casa de Cambio" are available in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Akumal and Tulum. In Akumal, the Casa de Cambio is located in the Travel Services of Akumal building, near the Original Akumal Dive Shop. Hours are 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM Daily. Click Here for Today's Exchange Rate.

Akumal Dive Shop Akumal's long standing favorite with over 35 years on the beaches of Akumal Bay. 5 Star PADI Facility. Akumal Dive Shop offers daily ocean diving, night dives, cave and cavern programs, and scuba diving classes. Sign up one day prior for dives if possible. "Robinson Crusoe" boat tours. Located on Akumal Bay, near the CEA (North End).

Golf Cart and Bicycle Rental

Health and Fitness
Unfortunately Peak Gym has now closed. We are hoping for a new gym to open up in Akumal. Watch this space...
Yoga Akumal - Yoga Classes Classes daily and intensive weekend workshops monthly. Group and private sessions available. Click Here for Current Class Schedule and More Info.
Classes are located above the Las Casitas reception office (Stairs in the rear of the building). Morning and Evening Classes offered, Hours Vary. Please stop by Yoga Studio for posted times.
Akumal Kids Club 
The Kids Club in Akumal is excellent and you can find it located on the beach on Akumal Bay near the Lol-Ha restaurant and Palapa Bar. The have a wide range of activities to keep your little darlings busy while you get some well deserved rest. Activities include acting, supervised play, sand castle building, kite flying, scavenger hunts, videos, painting, crafts, mini-Olympics and visits to the pizza parlor. The "Kids Club" hours are 9AM to 2PM and 6 PM to 9PM (although times are subject to change throughout the year, so please confirm that they are open before making any plans). The rates are $6 per hour and $35 per day. The"Kid's Club"also has several babysitters for hire. Laundry Services
Mulgrew Lavanderia Same day service available if delivered by 8:00 AM. Price per kilo for wash, dry and fold. Located next to Mini Super Las Palmas (Near the Basketball court and across from the Super Chomak). Open 7 am to 1 pm & 5 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Saturday. Does not accept credit cards

Super Chomak Located just at the entry to Akumal. A large selection of imported products, plus liquor, beer and wine. Swim wear, sandals and other things you might find you need and don't have. Open 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Daily. No liquor sales after 3:00 PM on Sundays. Credit Cards Accepted.
El Pueblito Located across from Super Chomak, just next to the Mulgrew Lavanderia. Good selection, better priced in many cases. Open 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Daily. No liquor sales after 3:00 PM on Sundays. Credit Cards Accepted.
We recommend purchasing the bulk of your groceries and supplies in Playa del Carmen at any of the major retailers there.
Medical Services and Pharmacy
Dr. Lizbeth Mendoza Medical Services and Drugstore of Akumal Local bilingual doctor available for walk-in visits or House Calls. Med consultation rates begin at $35 US. Home visits $85 US. Pharmacy services are available in Akumal as well as Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Cancun. For the most product availability and best prices we recommend the Soriana or Chedraui pharmacies in Playa del Carmen or Cancun. In Akumal, the pharmacy is located across the highway in Akumal Pueblo.
