So much to see and do! It's hard to know where to start. There are many ways to explore the Caribbean Sea, lagoons, jungles, ruins and villages that are scattered through out the Riviera Maya. So- in case you choose to slip out of your hammock we have tried to provide a few ideas to get you started. Learn to Dive!

Most of the area dive shops offer both full certification and resort courses. A resort course is a one day class that will allow you to do shallow water dives under the watchful eye of a certified instructor. Akumal is the perfect place to learn to scuba dive. We have professional instructors from around the world, lots of visibility, and hardly any currents.

Go Snorkel!

Half Moon Bay, Xel-Ha, Yal-Ku Lagoon all offer great snorkeling and are easily accessible. If you are staying on Half Moon Bay, walk right in just in front of your condos. You will be amazed. Fins, Mask, and Snorkels are all available for rent at the local dive shops or bring your own set from home. We do recommend a shorty wetsuit in the winter months, because we have lived here a long time and are wimps. Be mindful of boat lanes, steer clear of coral heads and stay away from the breaks.

Kite Boarding!

Oh! So fun! Tulum beach has two kiteboarding schools, both online. Try Kite School Tulum, Extreme Control, XTC offers adventure activities such as kitesurfing Courses powered by IKO , the International Kiteboarding Organization. The Sky Cycle!

Hidden Worlds should not be missed and the Sky Cycle just tops it off, online at www.hiddenworlds.com. Hidden Worlds also offers Daily Snorkel Tours and Cavern Dives at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Located 10 minutes south of Akumal, along Highway 307. You will see the signs. Fishing!

Oh yes, we have it! Fishing charters available in Akumal, along Akumal Bay and through the dive shops. Larger sport fishing boats in Puerto Aventuras and don't forget the Boca Paila and Punta Allen Bone Fishing.

Horseback Riding!

Akumal local's favorite, Selva Maya offers guided horseback riding from a jungle ranch west of Akumal. Along the way, visit a cenote and cool off!

Sailing!

Kayaking!

Many of the villas have kayaks for guests to use. Paddle around our protected bays and enjoy the beauty of our Caribbean. Or, for more adventure, try a kayak tour of Sian Ka'an Reserve, Kayaks are also available rent on Half Moon and Akumal Bay.
