Description

Akumal Direct is delighted to present Villa Turquesa located in a private setting tucked away at the northern shore of South Akumal beach. Filled with open and airy interior spaces, this beautiful villa has much to offer your family or large group. Professional cleaning is included 6 days per week

The property is located within the peaceful gated community of South Akumal, located just one and half mile south of Akumal’s restaurants, boutiques, dive shops and other services. South Akumal is well known for its crescent shaped white sand beach and sandy bottom bay that is excellent for both swimming and snorkeling.

The Villa Turquesa property is a duplex style home with the main house on the left side and 2 guests houses on right side, one above the other.

The 3,500 squ ft Main Villa is open and airy with uninterrupted views of the beach and Caribbean Sea. The open large open design of the main level highlights the expansive ocean views and is designed to allow an easy and seamless flow from the main living areas, through to the pool, patio and sundeck and then on to the sandy beach and gentle turquoise waters.

The Main Villa has two levels. The lower level includes the full kitchen equipped with modern appliances, dining and sitting areas with comfortable seating. From this level step out on the well furnished pool deck. Also on the lower level is large and private guest bedroom, furnished with two double/full beds. The guest bedroom has lovely views of the garden and private full bath.

Located on the upper level of the main villa are four additional bedrooms. The master bedroom is furnished with a king bed and includes a private bath, access to the upper terrace which enjoys beautiful views of the Caribbean. Two additional guest bedrooms with 2 double beds each are located on this upper level: one with ocean views and one with garden views. There is also a kid's room with a bunk bed with a single trundle bed and a single bed with rails.

The upper level guest house occupies approximately 3,000 square feet and has 3 bedrooms. This guest house can be accessed from a doorway on the upper level of the main villa, or via its own external stairway. The lower level guest house has 2 further bedrooms and its own entrance.

The English speaking owner, who is also the property manager, often occupies the lower guest house, making her easily accessible when ever you have a question or a request. She is friendly, and happy to help with anything that you need, while at the same time respecting your privacy during your stay.

Right on the beach, incredible sunrise, big pool, friendly staff

We stayed at Villa Turquesa with our entire family including babies, kids, teens, spouses and partners and it offered something for everyone. The location right on the beach made it simple to watch the sunrise in the morning and enjoy the sound of the waves. The pool was big enough for us to float around in and the kids loved it. With direct sunlight in the morning and early afternoon, it offered a nice shaded place in the hot afternoon, with some areas shaded at all times which were nice for the babies. The sargassum seaweed didn't bother us, maybe due to the wind and the groundskeepers carting away large amounts in the morning. Entering the sea is a bit rocky, but not difficult and there was decent snorkeling with quite a bit of different fish species and little holes/caves to explore. The kayaks were also a nice activity. The rooms were comfortable and had AC, with some of the larger rooms taking a bit longer to cool. Each room having its own bathroom was a nice luxury with so many families sharing one house. The housecleaners were friendly and there every day from after breakfast to early afternoon and kept the place very clean. Sometimes we had to plan around that with our babies nap times or cooking lunch but it wasn't a big deal. The groundskeepers also did a great job cleaning up the pool every day and responded quickly to our request to cut down some of the coconuts that were hanging over the pool after one had fallen down. Overall a great experience!

This house was even better than we could have imagined. It was very spacious, very clean, and the view was amazing. The staff was very friendly, they cleaned the sargassum almost every day so it never got too bad in front of the house and we were still able to enjoy the beach. They provided kayaks and snorkeling gear as well which my family all used several times. The concierge was great with giving us advice on places to go as well as helping us with transportation. It was such a beautiful and fun vacation at this house! Highly recommend.

The house is lovely and the location is beautiful. There were 11 of us there and there was loads of room for everyone. Having everyone around the big table for dinner was great. There are beachside shops and restaurants about 30 minutes walk each way along the beach. I have to give a shout out to the rental agency who were fantastic. The only negative was the seagrass. It was piled high along the beach and stretched out about 20 metres from the shore. And the smell was horrific. There were a few days when we had to leave the villa because the stench was particularly bad. It's nothing that the owner or management team can fix. It's down to pollution, but best to be aware of it before you go. If there's any feedback I can give it's that the kitchen could do with a few common spices and new sun loungers are badly needed.

Villa Turquesa is a gem. Huge bedrooms, each with a bathroom, glorious natural light and breeze flowing through the home! The kitchen had two refridgerators, so we had plenty of room for ice/drinks/food. The crew came daily to tidy up, refresh sheets and fresh water for the dispensers. They were so helpful for anything we needed! We also hired Chef Daveed whose crew cooked most evenings and that was a true highlight. Amazing food, flavors cooked from her childhood in Veracruz! It was outstanding. We loved walking to Jungle Fish for a bite to eat as well. The beach is lovely, but do bring water shoes as it is not an ideal swimming beach with coral/etc. The pool was refreshing. The owner came and checked on us and we felt very welcome. A terrific family home for a large group!

We had an amazing week at Villa Turquesa! We were a family of 13 and there was plenty of space for all of us! The house has great Mexican charm, it is clean and very well kept. The staff and owners are extremely helpful and only have the goal of ensuring you have a wonderful stay. They greeted us with a meal on the first night and it was incredible. If we had planned it ahead of time it would have been great to have them cook for us more than one night. We will be back for sure if we ever visit the Mayan Riviera again. Fantastic location, wonderful pool, A/C in every bedroom, lots of bathrooms and just space in general.

We had a blast and felt the house provided our huge family a wonderful opportunity to vacation together under one roof. The catering provided by Chef Daveed was a delight. We had two chefs prepare breakfast, hors d’oeuvres, and dinner each day. The regional dishes were remarkably delicious and beautifully served. The best ingredients were bought fresh daily from the market. The chefs took great pride in preparing a wide variety of native dishes and gladly accommodated our vegetarian family member with delicious alternatives. We did not rent a car because we rented two golf carts which were a perfect way to go into town and to the beach. The house is perfectly situated on Half Moon Bay with proximity to all of Akumal’s attractions. The security and housekeeping staff were gracious and attentive. The house itself is in very good repair and is obviously well cared for.

Fuimos con toda la familia, éramos en total 21 personas. 11 adultos y 9 niños. La casa es hermosa, el lugar y la playa, mágicos!! Todos pasamos unas vacaciones inolvidables!! Lo recomiendo sin lugar a dudas.

fuimos a pasar vacaciones en familia, 21 personas, y no tenemos ni una queja, todos los cuartos con camas amplias y baños, hacíamos snorkel todos los días en la playa que queda al frente, hay mucha vida marina, se pueden ver peces de colores y tortugas grandes en la noche.
Si desean pueden pedir servicio de alimentación y la chef, Ana Laura, cocina delicioso! (participó en masterchef México) y ofrece comida típica mexicana. A la llegada no te tienes que preocupar por la comida porque te tienen cena de bienvenida.
Tolum, Playa del Carmen, Xel-ha e infinidad de cenotes están muy cerca

“Great place for large group”

Our family of 8 adults and 5 children spent a week in Villa Turquesa. Our host was very gracious and accommodating. The house and furnishings were lovely. The pool was the perfect size for the five young children. We rented the whole house so there was more than enough space. And then we learned one of the ACs did not work well. Unfortunately, that one was in the master suite. It was checked out and we were told it was fine but the room never cooled off. No matter, this spacious room had a hammock by the windows overlooking the sea. It became the spot disappear from the fray and was a beautiful way to relax to the sound of the waves...or the children in the pool below.. 
We were fortunate to be there during the turtle nesting/hatching season. We never saw the turtles hatch but we found shells on our beach walks. On our last night, we saw a mama turtle come ashore and we watched in reverent silence as she dug her nest and laid her eggs. 
We booked this property through a management company. The listing offered dinner upon arrival, massages, and a couple of excursions included in the price. When you book this property, make sure you confirm with the management company the options you want. If you don't, the options won't be offered. 
One more thing to consider about the area - not just this property - the Sargasso seaweed was everywhere. The homeowner's association had people trying to keep it at bay by manually hauling it away, but there was just too much. Cleaning the beaches was a true Sisyphean task. We liked kayaking, so we just slogged through a few feet of the seaweed to reach the most beautiful, clear, warm water.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Turquesa. The house is so open and airy, and right on the beach. The layout is well thought out. There are lots of fun extras like playing cards, books, dvds, yoga mats, and kayaks. We really enjoyed taking the snorkels out. You can see some cool fish and other sea life snorkeling right in front of the house. The lounge chairs by the pool were perfect for nighttime stargazing while listening to the waves. The kitchen is supplied with all the non-food items you could think of. There is even a highchair, which came in very handy for us. The internet is also great! We had no problems connecting and it’s fast enough for multiple people to stream movies at the same time if you want.

The location is perfect! You can walk about 25 minutes along the beach to akumal restaurants, or about a 4 minute drive. Tulum is about a 20 minute drive. We cooked some meals at the house and went to akumal or tulum for others. The house is a short drive from many cenotes.

The staff were great! They are so friendly and did a wonderful job keeping the house clean. The 24 hour security is nice plus. We had our baby with us and we always felt safe.

I highly recommend this place!

The only thought I have would be to switch out some of the bright white light bulbs for warmer ones for a more chill vibe in the evenings.

It was a perfect place for our family. It was quiet and relaxing. The place is well taken care of and clean. Love the pool and the beach. The kitchen and dining room was big enough to cook for our family of 8. The monkey sanctuary and the yal ku lagoon are both in akumal and are amazing.

There were 13 of us on a family vacation. The house was perfect. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were happy for the A/C as it was very hot. The pool was where everyone gathered. Maids cleaned daily so even with a full house it never felt over run. The house keeper was very responsive to our requests. Nesting turtles on the beach were an unexpected bonus!

We rented Villa Turquesa for five days for our small wedding, 13 adults stayed on the property and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was a great setting for our laid back group! The pool was the perfect size and was utilized quite a bit since the sargassum seaweed was so bad. We enjoyed our time there immensely, but were unaware that the cleaning staff would be there from 9:30am until 3:30pm everyday of our stay, they were pleasant and quiet but the amount of cleaning was something I have never experienced in a vacation rental and it didn't seem necessary. The owner left us a note saying we needed to tip $2 per person per day per cleaning staff (three people). A $26 tip per day seems a bit steep for a cleaning tip. I hope that the cleaning staff are being paid through the rental fees we paid, not just the tip. Other than that, great secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun/Tulum, nice beach, and good snorkeling!

We just returned from a fabulous week at Villa Turquesa with a group of 11 adults. It was a really wonderful house for our crew. There is plenty of space, we never felt crowded. The bedrooms are fairly basic, but it was nice for everyone to have their own bathroom. The kitchen was great, we cooked quite a bit so were glad to have 2 refridgerators, large pots, lots of plates and a table that comfortably seats 12. The outdoor area is fabulous. You can walk right into the water, or just enjoy the view from the deck. It was very quiet when we were there and had the beach to ourselves many days.
We felt very spoiled by Beto and team cleaning up everyday. And it was a great surprise to have dinner waiting for us on our arrival.
We didn't use the chef services, but we did have the Akumal Direct concierge arrange for massage therapists to come to the house and they were fabulous.
Overall, we had a great trip and loved the house.

The house was just as describe and more so Much larger than expected and spotlessly clean, the house cleaners kept it that way. The pool was big enough that the 16 of us never felt crowded. David from Akumal direct handled everything for us from airport transportation to rental car to the best chef in the area. He is a gem of an employee. We had prefect weather other than the seaweed but there were plenty of spaces on the beach to enter the water.

We had a fabulous time. The home is like the pictures portray. The housekeepers went above and beyond. We wish the seaweed would have stayed away a few more days, but a walk down the beach 20 yards and it was fine.

Akumal Direct gave timely and helpful suggestions for planning our trip, information about ordering grocery delivery, chef services, and general information about the property, with a concierge ready to arrange transportation for our excursions as we enjoyed much of what the area had to offer. Villa Turquesa provided a nice living/dining/kitchen area for gathering, eating and activities, plenty of bedrooms with a bathroom connected to each, with a pool and deck out the back door with stunning views and the ocean a few yards away. The grandkids loved the beach, the pool and snorkeling not too far up the beach. We enjoyed lunch at the Jungle Fish restaurant, which was a nice half-mile walk along the Akumal Beach Trail. Our housekeepers kept the rental tidy and in good shape with a smile on their faces. The handyman made sure the pool was clean and our needs were met, even leading us to a small, hidden cenote just yards from the Villa. It was interesting seeing the numerous turtle nests all along the beach and learning about them. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Turquesa and would recommend it for your next visit to the Riviera Maya.

We thought we were finishing a perfect vacation when it got even more incredible the last night when we were able to experience a turtle hatching. So wonderful. The house was perfect. Claudia brought us an amazing dinner our first spite of some temporary power outage. Snorkeling was great. We had rainbows and gorgeous sunrises. The staff was incredible and we highly recommend Chef Daveed for a dining experience.

Overall it was a wonderful stay. Guests ranged in age from 78-11. There was something for everyone to do. The House looked exactly like the photos with the exception of one room but it was nothing g detrimental. The largest issue we had was the water turning off. This happened at least 2, maybe 3 times while we were there. There also were not enough towels considering the amount of people we had. However, I would definitely rent this space again

The villa was great for our large family. We had 20 of us rangeing in age from 9 years to 69 and it was perfect for all of us. Each couple had their own bedroom and the kids were able to share rooms comfortably. The living room and kitchen were big enough for all of us to cook and be together. Of course the view was beautiful and we all enjoyed the beach, swimming and snorkeling. The beach is rocky but since we were prepared and had water socks, it wasn't a problem. The villa is a bit older and therefore has some quirks that we all adjusted to, ie some ants in the morning, not being able to flush toilet paper. I do think someone needs to be there when the first group checkes in to show them around and explain how the appliances work and other issues. Not knowing how to work the stove could have been a catastrophe, since my son didn't know he needed to light the pilot light. Claudia did call the next day but didn't come by. Unfortunately because of the Southwest issues, I wasn't able to be there until the 4th day, so my family who arrived before me didn't even know there was a separate entrance to the 3 bedrooms in the 2nd part of the house.Also their isn't a washer and dryer available to be used by the tenants. There is a laundry service though that is reasonable, $5 a load. I also would have liked to have known in advance that there would be maid service everyday for about 4 hours and that you need to tip each one $2 per person in your party each day which really added up for our group. We ended up working out a compromise of putting the trash outside of our closed bedroom doors, so they weren't there as long. Don't get me wrong, the maids tried to not be in our way and couldn't have been more gracious. Manuel was there every morning and he cleaned the patio and the area around the pool, which was great since we tracked so much sand up from the beach. Would we stay here again. Definately!

Wonderfully spacious home that easily accomodated the 10 of us. The views were spectacular, the massages luxurious, the authentic Mexican meal delicious, and the location was outstanding. This is one place we all agreed we would return to!

Our stay in villa turquesa was fantastic!!
23 people and we still had an extra bed. Beautiful ocean view , great location and service. Ernesto, Silvina and Candy had the place clean every day and ready for us to enjoy. Claudia and her husband were excellent hosts and their tips were very helpful. My family, friends and my self are definitely going back soon!

This house (full 8 BR) was perfect for our extended family of 15. We loved the direct beach access, as well as the pool. Beautiful sunrises. Enough space to come together as a family, and for different groups to do their own activities.
