We were 9 people using the main house/casita. Overall a pleasant stay, but we felt the value for money is on the low side. Nice location, right on the beach though heavy sargassum (little effort to remove it from our beachfront). Decent "reef" for snorkeling, nice bay for kayaking (2 kayaks provided). Access road in poor condition, but no problem with SUV.

We arrived an hour after check-in time (4pm), and the maintenance person was still cleaning, and the pool was dirty, cloudy, and unusable until the next day. Not a major issue, but not exactly a welcoming feeling.

The kitchen was well-stocked with cutlery/crockery/cookware (only S&P in terms of food supplies), but many things were/felt very "used" and/or a bit grimy. Coffee pot was broken (no coffee on our 1st morning) but replaced; stove/oven needed to be lit with a lighter. On their own, not huge issues, but collectively felt a bit cheap/run-down.

A couple pool toys for the kids which was appreciated, but the large container of snorkel gear was at least 50% broken or missing matching pairs.

The maintenance/cleaning staff (Jose and Marisol) were hard-working and friendly. It was a bit awkward in our opinion, as we didn't enjoy having two strangers (as nice as they were) walking around while we enjoy family time, or asking us to vacate rooms so they can clean. There was a miscommunication on the first day, where we asked if they could limit a deep clean (sweep, mop, bedrooms) to every other day, whereas trash/dishes could be done daily. They still continued to clean everything every day, yet left dishes and trashes on a couple occasions (and never cleaned pool). Upon request, they did provide a music player quickly, but took several days to put up a rope for drying clothes. And we're still expected to "tip" US$230/week.

The manager Rhett showed up one morning (no notice) and provided some useful tips and a contact number.

We enjoyed our week-long stay at Casa Gray, total of 11 family members. We last stayed there about 9 years ago. The Casa is well stocked with most necessities and the staff is very accomodating.
