The corner grocer was steps from the condo for chips and cervesa. We walked everywhere, 20 minutes into Akumal for shops or you could catch a little cab. Having coffee on our patio in the morning was a highlight for us.

Located in Half Moon Bay, the area was very quiet & the waters very calm. The sand was literally right outside the slider & the water just steps away. Was able to snorkel right in front of the condo. Had a great restaurant/bar (La Buena Vida), a nice little cafe (The Jungle), & a convenient store all within walking distance. The staff was very friendly & helpful, & the daily maid service was a plus! Would highly recommend & would absolutely stay again if we venture back that way!

The Luna Azul Unit 1 property size and configuration was quite right for our group of 4 adults and one child. It is located on the ground floor so not too many steps and access from the road and to the beach was ok. Keep it in mind if some in your party has walking issues....
There is no dish washer but the cleaning crew washed dishes, made the beds and cleaned the apartment every morning so our stay was very pleasant and hassle free anyway. Internet was fine and the smart tv screens large and bright, although we did not spend much time watching.
Akumal is on the main road between Tulum and Cozumel, so we were able to visit both places and, from Cozumel, we rode to the high seas, to see and swim with whale sharks. Quite an experience, if you are willing to ride at high speed on a boat for about six or seven hours for a very brief encounter (not guaranteed) with whale sharks.
As warned on Luna Azul Vrbo page, there was a considerable accumulation of sargasso weeds on the shore and in the water which made walking through it and swimming in front of the property a bit unpleasant. However, just walking on the beach one or two hundred yard to the left, it was possible to get into the water, swim and snorkel with no issue.
Walking on the beach we noticed signs indicating the location of sea turtles eggs nesting and, just the evening before leaving, we actually saw quite a number of little baby turtles emerging from the sand and heading for the sea. Some were hampered by the deep amount of sargasso weeds on the shore, so a few were helped by us making a path for them to reach the sea. That was a special treat for us all and an exciting conservation lesson for our six year old grandson.
Altogether, it was a simple, nice and relaxing stay. We recommend it.

Akumal and Half Moon Bay are perfect for a quiet get away. Far from the craziness of Cancun or PDC or Tulum. Great restaurants, especially in the pueblo. We've stayed in many of the condos. All have been great.

This unit was perfect for us! Great table on the patio for morning coffee. Even with the Sargasso the location was still great. There are plenty of other things to do and there are vendors at the entry of the bay that will give you a good deal on snorkeling, atvs and boat trips. The small store in walking distance had good prices. I would definitely stay away from the General Store near the OXXO. Great food and groceries just across the bridge in Akumal Central. A short drive from Playa del Carmen and Tulum for awesome day trips! The housekeepers came in daily to clean and always did a great job! Bonus: A turtle laid a nest right in front of our unit!

Had an absolutely wonderful vacation. Close restaurants with delicious food. Walking distance to Lagoon to snorkel!! Best New Years ever!!

We love Akumal, and this is our 3rd time staying at Luna Azul. The condo is bright, clean, and very spacious. Was perfect for our family of 5. We arrived on a Saturday to our very clean condo. The first floor condo was literally 100’ from the ocean. We’ve stayed in another condo close by last year. Check in was quick. Housekeeping comes in every morning to clean the unit, make beds, do dishes, switch out towels etc. The area is very safe. There is a small grocery store about 50 yards away from this condo. Basic items including beer, wine, and alcohol can be purchased there. It is very quiet in this area. No late night partying going on. There are many things to do from here. We had a great time and will definitely come back.

Beautiful condo, steps from the sea, located in a quiet and safe community. Many restaurants to choose from at walking distance. Two things you need to be aware of, no washer and dryer but there is a laundry service in the village, and spotty internet. We were surprised that maid was cleaning every other day.

We had a great stay in Akumal and really enjoyed our beach front condo overall. It was very clean and everything was a described. The beach is beautiful and we really enjoyed getting into the water everyday and sunning on the chairs in front of the condo. The only area for improvement is with the wifi; it was weak and inconsistent throughout our stay. We were there for holiday so it didn't affect us too much but had we needed to work we would not have been able to. The connection supported email but would not have supported Zoom / video conferencing.

I recently stayed at the Luna Azul property in Akumal for 5 nights. The location is fantastic; it is literally right on the beach and the view is breathtaking. My only recommendations would be to have more beach chairs for the property and better mattresses and pillows in the bedrooms.

We had the opportunity to watch a 3 1/2 foot sea turtle come out of the ocean and lay eggs. It was amazing and a memory we won't forget.

We did not see the property manager when we were there. The reservation was made through Akumal Direct. We arrived late at night and could not find anyone to open our room as everything was closed. A security person happened to be in the area and let us in. It was a beautiful facility and were there for our son's wedding. The property was very expensive and we could only afford to do something like this on a special occasion.

Swim with sea turtles, right in front of your condo, or walk down to the park (6 blocks) a small addmision and your swimming with tropical fish in the lagoon. rent a car and you are a short distance from Tulum, Coba or many other great day trips. Just remember to keep a full tank of gas!! our freinds ran out and that was a pain as the gas station was out of gas too!!Bring your snorkel gear and have a great time!!

This was a top notch location for a week away from home!! There were good restaurants/outdoor lounges just steps down the beach and many attractions within an hours drive. The only issue was the broken air conditioner in the second bedroom. Otherwise, A+ for the property and for Akumal Direct!!
