The most relaxing vacation!

The casita was stunning and very comfortable, very well maintained and the hosts took excellent care of us the entire time. The yard was so beautiful that we didn't really feel the need to head to the beach, but of course we did.<br/><br/>The location is a little further from the beach but bikes are available at the casita for guest use and gof cart rentals are always an option. We were still very close to several restaraunts and very, very close to Yal Ku which is absolutely beautiful!<br/><br/>I can't say enough about Que Onda, you really just need to experience it for yourself. We will definitely be back. The only thing I regret is that we didn't book a longer vacation!

Gorgeous rental in a great location

Que Onda casita 2 was all we hoped it would be, and more! The house and grounds are spacious and beautiful. There was plenty of room for the five of us (two adults, three kids ages 8, 11, 13) to spread out. The kitchen has everything you could need.. we loved cooking and enjoying poolside meals every day. Location was excellent, being walkable to the lagoon and half moon bay.. we snorkeled, watched the sunrise, explored the rocky point.. you name it. It was awesome having access to the water without feeling crammed on the small beach with other vacationers. Fabrizio was attentive and super helpful with recommendations.. we had wanted to explore the area and see cenotes, ruins, etc and he pointed us in the right direction every time. He provided bikes, snorkel gear (we brought our own but might not have if we’d known it was there), beach chairs/towels. And then to top it off... the bakery! Wow! What a treat to have a top notch artisan bakery right on site. <br/><br/>If you are looking for a comfortable, private stay in a beautiful Akumal oasis, look no further!! We looked at a lot of places before booking and are so glad we went with this one.

The nice part of this area of Mexico is that you're close enough to the sites you want to see, but far enough away that you have some seclusion if that's what you're looking for.
Very close to the Akumal lagoon (quick walk) for good snorkeling. I would recommend avoiding paying for snorkeling with the turtles at the playa. Its over priced for what it is, but if you're dying to see a sea turtle might be ok with you. Too many people, and too murky, over priced.
Diving was wonderful though and worth every penny. Friendly staff over there as well. The restaraunts in the area were all good. If you're looking for something more affordable get over to the Pueblo side. It's worth your time to explore, great fresh tortillas for very cheap, great food for very cheap, and fresh produce, also very cheap.
Wonderful condo. The pool and property felt like ours and was very nice to share the other unit with family. So its perfect for larger groups. Didn't feel like we were on top of the condos next door or near by. Pool was very nice for adults and the kids. The location was far enough away from the main area of the Playa that we didn't really notice any noise or foot traffic. Just the ocean waves. Many small touches made our stay incredible--everything from the sheets and towels to the ice maker in the refrigerator. Fabrizio's cinnamon buns, bagels, and sourdough loaves delivered fresh to our Casita were a wonderful surprise. We were familiar with the location but had not been there since the restaurant and hotel were remodelled into the current configuration. The courtyard is very private and the pool is delightful. We enjoyed the privacy and quiet of this location. It is a quick walk to Yalku Lagoon and a few restaurants and bars. Mostly, we enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen.

An exceptional stay that exceeded all our expectations

He gave us a full guided tour of the apartment and made us feel instantly welcome and at home. The apartment is absolutely beautiful and clean and the decor so well thought out. We wanted for nothing. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped and anything we required was never any trouble. The care and attention we had throughout our whole stay was exceptional. The grounds are beautifully kept as is the pool. It’s a little oasis inside those gates and we felt so fortunatel to have found it. I wholly recommend this stay and I hope you enjoy everything as much as we did. <br/>

The condos were super comfortable and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The beds were great, and the AC worked very well. Wouldn't hesitate to come again. The owners and crew were wonderful and eager to please.

The owners have their own house on the property and were super friendly and accommodating, giving recommendations and advice, helping us to see turtles and even opened up some coconuts for us! Akumal is lovely and we had a fantastic time (family with 2 teens). Casa Tortuga is a great day out for cenotes, Akumal Diving Centre for snorkeling with turtles, a day trip to Puerto Morelos (great seafood at Blue Morelos), Selva Maya Eco Adventures and swimming and snorkeling in the lagoon. So much to do nearby, this was a great base for exploring.

Fabulous house in Akumal
Reviewed on 2024-11-17 by , Evanston, IL USThis house is just gorgeous and was so perfect for our family of two parents, two adult sons and one fiancee. I insisted that my husband and I stay on the top floor bedroom which meant 36 steps for an 80 and 85 year old, but it was great exercise!

Fabulous Villa in Akumal

It had upgraded appliances, a/c, daily housekeeping, comfortable beds and the kitchen was fully stocked so we were easily able to cook some nice meals during our stay. The owners lived right next door and were available and happy to help with any questions or anything we needed. The pool out front was incredible and so nice to take a refreshing dip in throughout the day and night. The outdoor sitting area was magical, especially at night. The location was ideal! In a few minutes we could walk to the lagoon to snorkel and about 10 minutes to Half Moon Bay to swim. It was also within a short walking distance to many good restaurants. We would stay here again in a flash and our local friends who visited us there even said they are going to recommend it whenever they have visitors to the area. We highly recommend Que Onda Casita, you will be happy you booked it.
