Beautiful spot, rental. We had the misfortune of booking in July when there was the worst Sargassum Sea grass accumulation in history. So the rotten egg smell pervaded everything, and we could not use the beach or swim in the ocean. It would be fantastic when there isn't a sea grass infestation.

We stayed at Villa Serenity for 10 days and found the property very comfortable and appropriate for our needs. The caretakers, Elias and Rita, were terrific, answering any questions and did a great job. The most exciting part of the vacation were the giant loggerhead sea turtles who were nesting in the backyard. According to the volunteers (we called them the "Madres de Tortugas") the turtles laying their eggs were the same turtles hatched in the same area 20 years ago! The only downside was the Sargasso Grass on the beach, which made it hard to use the beach because flies were quite thick and the smell was strong. We used the pool instead and went to several cenotes in the area. A bit sad to get a house on the beach and not be able to use the beach, but that is the fault of Global Warming and not the house. The turtles made it exciting though! We saw tracks almost every day and had two nighttime sightings! Akumal has a nice tourist plaza that had some lovely restaurant's. We ate at Turtle Bay Cafe and Bakery twice. Food was terrific, Ruby served us both times and was equally delightful! There's also a fabulous seafood restaurant in the same plaza. All in all, a lovely vacation.

Villa Serenity is great. The property was really clean, well appointed and well worked well. Having a daily cleaning service was really nice. The villa is right on the nicest stretch of beach in the area which is also pretty quiet and felt very safe. The pool is heated which is a bonus and a really nice option to have. You do really need a car to stay here as it's a little way out from any restaurants and supermarkets etc. Nearest restaurants are about 10 mins drive, although there is a beach bar 100yds away! The road to get to the villa from the main road could use some maintenance but we were fine in a small car. Akumal Direct were great to deal with, good communication and information provided before arrival etc. Hopefully we'll be back in future!

My husband and I brought my 89-year-old mom and godmother for a relaxing getaway. It was perfect! The beach and home privacy were just as we’d hoped. The service was attentive, kind and very friendly. The home was spacious and comfortable. We’ll be back!

Fantastic vacation rental and well worth it. Nothing beats being able to step right outside the back porch right onto a groomed and clean beach front. Overall accommodations were great, Rita was consistent with cleaning and doing laundry (she even did the dishes)! Ramon, the night security guard sometimes scared us walking up to the house at night via the beach, but it was great knowing we were being looked out for. Ely was there to greet us when we arrived and made himself available for any needs, which we wound up not needing him considering the great care property amenities. The A/C was spot on and made a huge difference! Definitely recommend this place and the bikini bar just a few houses down the beach was very convenient.

The condo more than met my expectations! Everything worked- the fridge, water purifier, coffee machine, microwave, oven ! And best of all the AC- in all bedrooms and main area. Very nice caretaker Ellie and housekeeper Rita. There a few floats, fins and life jackets also. Bring your own snorkel and mask.
It is just steps to the beach. We didn’t use the pool in the back but it looked clean.
We used the purified water provided and were fine. I highly recommend getting groceries delivered from riviera Maya as the nearest store is 20 minutes away.

We had a great time at this spot. Best stretch of beach and a quiet neighborhood. The pool was very nice and warm - kitchen was well stocked and beds were very comfortable. The staff did a wonderful job of keeping the house clean and helped with anything we needed. Great area to stay in - close to all the local attractions while being away from the craziness of the larger towns in the area. Our favorite day trips were Cenote Azul, Yal-ku Lagoon - just make sure you go the old entrance. We also had a great dinner at La Buena Vida and a good lunch at Lol-Ha Restaurant. We did do a day trip to the ruins in Tulum - the ruins were interesting and in a beautiful spot but be aware of the amount of haggling you will need to do to park and get tickets. Also if you want to do a day trip to Tulum to see the beach etc. we found that you need pay lots of $$$ to get a spot at one of the beach clubs to even see the water. The little bar/retaurant two doors down from the house - Bikini Bar is a great little spots for drinks. We would definite recommend this house and would stay here again.

Overall our experience was good but we felt some things weren't as advertised and need attention. The best part of this property is the beach, hands down. Also, Eli and Rita are wonderful and took great care of us all. Things that were disappointing: No bedside lamp of any kind in the downstairs bedroom (We needed Eli to find us a lamp so we werent stuck with the single overhead fan lamp shining from above while trying to relax. The cement couches arent very comfortable and dont accommodate more than 2 or 3 people at a time. The stove requires a lighter to ignite. The toaster oven control/lettering are all worn off making it confusing to use. The refrigerator/freezer quits cooling, randomly, risking lots of food and safety. The pool is clean and refreshing but there are only TWO chaise's available and they had lots of bird droppings on them that was cleaned off despite asking. Definitely not enough seating for 6 people. The road into the condo from the highway is in horrible condition. Last, the pictures used in the listing must be fairly dated as the property doesnt look much like them.
We did enjoy being able to run down to Tulum or up to Play del Carmen. We loved being able to walk down the beach to the beachside restaurants. The kayaks were a nice touch as was the well groomed beach. We enjoyed our stay but wish some things, as above, were in better condition and more comfortable.

It was an amazing vacation. Beautiful beach and home in a really quiet area. The pictures don’t really do justice to how beautiful it was to relax on the lounger in the shade as your stress blows away in the breeze.

We brought our own snorkelling gear so the family enjoyed snorkelling right in front of the home. The owners lived next door and were so kind and thoughtful. They had kayaks and adult life jackets out but the waves were a tad rough for the kids to use. That said, when they saw that we had little kids, brand new children’s life jackets magically appeared the next day.

The home also had a team that would maintain the grounds, provide overnight security watch and clean the home and rooms daily. They were so kind. We speak no Spanish so it was so sweet of them to be patient when we tried to chat.

We loved the quiet and peaceful location. We rented a car so it was really easy to get around. Public transport is not easily accessible without walking a ways away but if you have a rental car and enjoy peace and quiet this is your spot.

Thank you to our host and their staff for a memorable family vacation.

The house was in a good location....the staff was fabulous and took good care of us ❤️ the disappointment was the Sargassum on the beach but we tried not to let that interfere with swimming in the ocean.... The days that it was thick we had a great pool to swim in....this pool however was located in the back yard of the place next door. The people next door owned both properties and we had access to the use of it .The Bikini bar down the beach was great and the massage hut further down was excellent and would recommend the. The neighbour on the other side of property (left hand side looking at the water ) was not very friendly and quite rude to us....later in the afternoon we would follow the sun on the beach and she didn’t want us to lay in the sun in front of her property although we were very close to the water and not in her yard/ property but apparently she thought she owed the property all the way to the water ��‍♀️

The sliding glass doors with the sliding screens made for a pleasant night's sleep. I turned my AC off, opened the curtains and glass doors, and closed the screen. The only noise outside was the gentle lapping of the waves on the beach just 20 meters away. There were 2 Green Sea Turtle nests on our beach, one just 2 meters off the patio. On the third night one of the nests hatched over 100 baby turtles. Some went straight to the sea but nearly 70 of them went the wrong direction towards the pool area lights in the area between our villa and the one next door. We gathered them up in a large plastic bowl and rushed them down to the sand near the breaking waves where they flipped and flopped the last few meters to the sea. The three resident staff were extremely efficient and friendly. The overnight security made us feel safe and the ability to park our rental car inside the secure gated backyard was also reassuring. Many thanks to Raymond, Ely, and Rita! Akumal is more or less halfway between Tulum and Playa del Carmen and is the perfect location to base your touring of Mayan ruins and Cenotes from. We spent one afternoon on a floating and snorkeling tour of an underground river cave system called Cenotes Sac Actún, It was only a short drive away and was spectacular. We highly recommend this property as your next beach vacation spot!

I would definitely book with Akumal Direct again. The concierge service before our arrival was superb. During our arrival, the service was a bit delayed. However, our home was just as it was described. Ramon, our security officer, was so helpful and cordial.

WE had a wonderful stay in Villa Serenity. The house has amazing views, the kitchen is very well provided, the staff is so kind and helpful, the beach is gorgeous and so quiet, the agency kept us informed and was very helpful. We couldn't ask for more and can not wait to return!

Everything went perfectly with the house and property. It is a nice home, well kept and has many great features. The caretaker and housekeeper are both nice and they were very attentive. The guard service was also appreciated. The safe upstairs should be fixed and an oven would be nice. Thanks for a great stay!

Our stay at Villa Serenity was just that, very serene.
The location on the beach was great and the house itself was just the right size for us. However, a car is a must of some kind of transportation. There isn't anything to see or do nearby and the only choice of eating out is a quaint beach bar just down the beach which was very good. For us, we would have probably preferred to be in or near a village that offered activities and restaurants within walking distance. One more thing, the living room furniture does not lend itself to lounging. Very uncomfortable.

It is a very private, laid back area which makes it very easy to decompress. The house was beautiful and Rita the lovely house keeper made our stay very enjoyable. Ely the groundskeeper always kept the pool clean, the beach raked and the grounds looking great. The house also has night time security which made us feel extra safe in a very safe area. Having our own pool was an added extra and was super fun. We used it a ton while we were there. Overall our experience was one to remember!

The home was nice and clean and ready for us upon arrival. The backyard is the stunning and beautiful beach. Perks were the bottled water system even feeding to the fridge plus internet speed was FAST. The house and staff were so nice we plan to go back.

We stayed from 10/10-10/17. It was our first time in Mexico and after some goggle earth search we found the best/private beach in Akumal (and for sure the best house) In all our stay we had minimum Sargasso or nothing at all. There is an awesome bar/restaurant within a walking distant on the beach!(so convenient). if you don't want to move from this beautiful house, Rita can cook delicious authentic Mexican food(extra pay, so worth it) My sister was working everyday remotely and the WIFI was 100% perfect. Oh and also you have a parking spot (we had a rental)! We never used the pool because the weather condition were perfect! Cant Wait to go back!

Excelente propiedad, muy cómoda, con preciosa vista al mar, excelente atención del personal que administra y cuida la casa, así como de sus dueños que son vecinos, la limpieza excelente, la atención de las fallas que se presentaron, que fueron mínimas , se atendieron muy rápido y eficiente.
En resumen, nos pasamos una excelente semana en Villa Serenity.

We enjoyed staying at this property for the second time. The staff, Rita (Housekeeper), Eli (Maintenance and Landscaper) and Ramon (Security) were absolutely amazing. Thank you to Eli for assisting us when we lost our car rental keys!! We experienced some seaweed but other than that, the beach was amazing.

Excente house, I loved the view, sea and pool. The place is peacefull and magic. House clean and with all necessary. People working there are excellent.
