Beautiful and Relaxing

We much enjoyed sitting out in the mornings and evenings, watching the water through the palm trees blowing with the breezes. Midday was pretty sunny and warm, but lounging on the chairs down on the beach was quite refreshing. And the northern location helped keep most of the sargasso away; it was still there, but nothing like what we saw further south. <br/>The place itself was just a little worn around the edges, but perfect for our needs: a/c and fans in the bedrooms were very helpful at night, comfortable couch for resting, functional refrigerator/freezer, coffee-maker, microwave, etc.<br/>The shower space was a bit small, which was fine for us but might have been a bit awkward if anyone else was staying with us. And as another guest mentioned, the deck *is* shared with the unit next door, with just a couple mid-height plants dividing the space (not entirely clear in the photos/description). This ended up to not be a problem for us, just something to be aware of.<br/>All-in-all, we had a wonderfully enjoyable and relaxing stay.

We fell asleep listening to the waves and woke up to enjoy our morning coffee on the patio. Responsive and helpful staff. We'll definitely return.

Simply Relaxing

It has all the quality comforts you need to cook with gas stove and new appliances and to chill out on very comfortable deck chairs. The beach is right there and pretty much semi private with comfortable beach chairs and shade if you need it. The on site staff are wonderful and the management is very quick to reply to any queries or unexpected issues. Lots of windows (with screens) from and back guarantee lots of ventilation with the ocean breeze but each room has efficient and quiet AC. Tall hedging provides privacy from neighboring buildings.

The overall experience was as pleasant as always, what we have come to expect from Akumal Direct, and I am sure we will rent again in future,
We had no direct contact with the management, either at checkin, or checkkout, so that I cannot attest to, however Marcia responded well to my emails, and the staff were fine (we speak Spanish, which helps).
Overall, Akumal is still one of the best, most secure places to stay on the whole coastline, in my opinion, and we will continue to come.
