Description

Casa Rosa is a beautiful vacation property on Playa Blanca, Guerrero, Mexico. a breathtaking beach area, away from the usual tourist congestion with emphasis on tranquility, privacy, solitude and the natural ambience of the tropics and ocean.

At the southern end of Playa Blanca, about a mile away you will find Barra de Potosí, a small fishing village that boasts some of the best seafood enramadas (open-air palapa restaurants).

There is a beautiful lagoon with miles of mangrove trees and bird life for you to enjoy as you either rent a kayak and paddle through yourself, or go on a guided tour in a small motorboat.

Casa Rosa is a 5-bedroom house with a large infinity swimming pool. It was designed and built by the area’s best known architect, Enrique Zozaya and is a true work of art, combining natural free-flowing style and traditional local Mexican materials. Four of the bedrooms have two queen-size beds each and there is a separate studio with one king-size bed. Each bedroom has its own private entrance and bathroom. The house comfortably sleeps 10. There are well-appointed indoor and outdoor sitting areas, with poolside chaise lounges, tables and chairs.

A large glass-enclosed living/dining area has an over-sized dining table and chairs, card table and chairs and plenty of sofa space to relax, read or watch T.V. Hammocks can be hung in the garden between the palm trees and a beautiful view of the beach and ocean is common to all spaces, being of special interest a group of large rock islands a few miles out.

The beach is a ten-mile stretch with mostly private homes and is prized for its serenity and lack of crowds (with the possible exception of Easter and New Year’s). During a long walk on Playa Blanca you might come upon just a few people The beach is great for swimming or just relaxing under the palapa surrounded by coconut trees. The pool is all the same depth, so power walking is also a good way to get your exercise, if that is your wish.

The house is located only 15 minutes south of the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo international airport and 30 minutes from the twin resorts of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. The backdrop on the landslide consists of natural pastures, tropical groves and fresh-water estuaries with the majestic mountains of the Sierra Madre in the background.

AMENITIES INCLUDE: Infinity pool, air conditioned bedrooms and living area, satellite TV with DVD and movies, CD player with music, ceiling fans, fully equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas, staff on premises. Daily Maid Service. The cook will prepare breakfast for you each morning (cost of groceries is additional), and can be hired to prepare delicious local meals for US$25 per meal. The staff can also do your grocery shopping for you for a transportation fee of US$25.

Casa Rosa is a dream! We stayed in two rentals on our vacation in Nov of 2019, and this one knocked it out of the park! Stay here. Plain and simple. We stayed with our kids (6 & 9) and extended family. It is perfectly laid out, very spacious, and beautiful. It is modern, gorgeous, and functional. The bedrooms all have AC, as does the dining/living space. The pool is big, and a small portion stays shady, which was very nice in the hot weather. The property can be accessed from the beach or the street, we felt very safe, the beach is empty and breath-taking, and the loungers were all comfy and sturdy. The furniture and decor was of great quality, and the grounds were lovely. The food prep/cooking was a killer deal, at only $25 USD, plus groceries, in total, for all 12 of us!!!! You simply give them your meal desires (anything you like from fries to enchiladas to an incredible chocolate birthday cake) and they will make it happen. Highly suggest this. They will also wash your clothes and replenish towels, wash bedding often, where other places had strict rules. The shower was awesome with lots of pressure (unlike other rentals we've stayed at), and the staff was exceptional! Super easy to deal with, kind, respectful, and helpful. The house is very close to the airport, so instead of taking an expensive airport taxi, walk out of the airport parking lot and hop on the little bus/vans that run every 15 minutes. Tell the driver you're going to Casa Rosa, and you'll save a bundle. The bus is an adventure too! Get used to taking it because it will save you a fortune. We didn't rent a car and just used it to get around. Also, take the bus into the little fishing village south of the property. It is pretty authentic, lots of beach restaurants and you can rent kayaks to explore the mangrove. The waves out front of Casa Rosa are wild, and kids need supervision playing by the water's edge. Enjoy a run on the beach in the morning, it's perfection. And bring your Alexa to listen to tunes while you enjoy the pool. Axle speaks awesome English and is super helpful. He lives on site with his aunts (the chefs). I would highly recommend Casa Rosa; very safe, kid-friendly, big, beautiful, and perfectly laid out. No complaints! A must see!

This house and staff are Ah-may-ZING. As beautiful as pictured. And it was quiet! With each bedroom having its own entrance, it felt private and secluded, even though there were nine of us. The constant sound of the ocean was a beautiful soundtrack and the communal areas and pool were so welcoming. It was easy to all be together, and just as nice to have alone time. This house is designed for comfort and relaxation. You are about 25 minutes outside of Zihua, so we ended up renting a car which helped. You can also drive 5 minutes to Barra de Potosi and see Carmen for a few groceries/tequila or hit Terasita's for a GREAT meal. We also enjoyed eating at Chula Vida, just a ten minute walk on the beach. Mega grocery store in Zihua was perfect for stocking up and Alicia gave us a list of what to get for breakfast and also when she made us dinner. Or you can pay Axel to get groceries but we had fun doing it ourselves. Before I go on, I have to acknowledge the staff. Axel speaks excellent English and was gracious about teaching me more Spanish, which I got to practice with Alicia and Antonia. Axel genuinely loves to be of service, whether it's cutting down fresh coconuts for us to make rum drinks or taking us to pay a parking ticket (yep), he is there for you. Get small bills to tip for extras like that and laundry. The service is beyond worth it, and they never felt underfoot. We had a hard time finding the place initially because there are no street numbers and the Google map didn't place it accurately. But the team at Akumal was quick to help and we made a few suggestions that hopefully will make it easier for future guests. A few more notes: if you go in rainy season like we did, be prepared to enjoy some crazy thunderstorms. Also be prepared for mosquitos. I'm still scratching. But the temperature was great even with the rain. Also, some places in town were closed because it's the slow season in September. We still managed to eat and have fun. I don't know if the currents and waves are always as strong as they were but we did experience a rip tide that was scary at times. We had strong swimmers in our group but we all felt when the ocean shifted and it was no longer safe. Do not swim alone! Be sure to visit Campamento Tortuguero Ayotlcalli, about ten minutes down the road near the airport. I had googled baby turtle release before our trip but hadn't found this place until we got there. It's all donation based and we went twice to help release the babies! Such a great experience.

Stayed at Casa Rosa with the entire family (7 adults and 6 kids) for one week. Tremendous facilities in a beautiful location. No need to leave the house, the beach is just a few steps away and made good use of the gorgeous infinity pool. The rooms are very clean and spacious with great views of the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Be prepared to submit your menu in advance and be clear on what you like and don't like. They can also help make some awesome drinks! Absolutely fantastic!

Don't bother renting a car as cabs are inexpensive and car rental prices are outrageous. Go to Barra De Potosi and get some local food!

Overall this is a 5 star experience. It's a very quiet place and with a beautiful beach. Keep the young kids close as the waves might sweep them away...

I would recommend Casa Rosa to anyone!

Delightful !!!! Over the past ten years, my husband and I have vacationed in six beach front villas in Mexico and Casa Rosa is by far our favorite! The beautiful house and grounds are perfect for relaxing and forgetting the cares of the world. The care takers, Andres and Alishea, could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Andres heard me say that I loved coconut water, so he had cold, coconut water for me everyday. We were there for St. Valentines Day. After a long day shopping, we arrived back at our room and found that Alishea had made two, darling little towel swans in the shape of a heart and a cute little towel dog that were setting on our bed. They were surrounded with colorful flower pedals. It was unexpected and such a thoughtful and beautiful gesture. That will be one of my favorite memories of our trip. Each morning we awoke to a delicious breakfast and each evening we watched the amazing sunset while we ate our perfectly prepared dinner poolside. Alishea is a very good cook. Her grilled meats, veggies and desert flan were fabulous. We were pleasantly surprised that the miles of pristine, coconut tree lined, coastline was mostly ours alone. We rarely saw anyone on the beach. We enjoyed day trips to nearby Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa for shopping and fishing and whale watching excursions were just down the beach at Barra De Potosi. There is a recently discovered archaeological site near Casa Rosa, with a museum and a small town nearby with gold mines. The manager, Orlando, and a local young man, Alex, were very friendly and spoke excellent English. They were very helpful in answering questions and making suggestions for tours. Our time spent at Casa Rosa will be cherished and we plan to return.

Casa Rosa provided our family with an ideal beachfront location offering privacy and helpful staff that cooked for us and helped with driving arrangements and anything we needed. Situated only a few miles from the airport and 20 minutes from the colourful village of Zihuatenejo, yet in a private setting, Casa rosa is ideally located for peaceful relaxation with entertainment and restaurants nearby.

Casa Rosa on Playa Blanca is a beautiful house with a pool that is right on the beach. Our party consisted of eight people with ages that ranged from 18 to 65. We had a mini family reunion at Casa Rosa. Everyone (even the two kids, 18 and 14) really had a fantastic, relaxing, fun time and enjoyed the house, pool, and beach for the week. The house truly is steps away from the beach, and the beach is perfect, with all sand and no rocks, with some great waves for body surfing. We saw dolphins swim by several times. All of us enjoyed Yeli's cooking each morning and night, she can cook some classic mexican dishes perfectly, and her flan is awesome. Casa Rosa is in a somewhat secluded location so if you are looking for close by night life this may not be the place for you. Although Zihua is approximately a 15 to 20 minute drive away so I'm sure you could find some nightlife there (we didn't but I'm sure there are some bars that stay open late). We drove to town three times during the day and had a great time shopping and exploring. The people of Zihua are extremely friendly, and we felt perfectly safe the entire time! I would not hesitate to recommend Casa Rosa to others, we had a great vacation there!

We took ten people to the Casa Rosa house for a 10 day vacation, and got just that. The house is very relaxing and allows everyone the space to enjoy the pool, beach and family living area. The care takers of the house are willing to do everything for you or let you do or own thing. The pictures are perfect and maybe dont do enough justice to the house it is gorgeous. The beach is very peaceful and private. Maybe 5-10 people will pass by in a days time. the water was warm and inviting although the waves are a little more powerful and not the best for little kids. We watched whales everyday and even saw a couple of sharks swimming in the area on one particular day, yikes! The only down fall to the beach are the sand flies that bite. We all came home with what appears to be mosquito bite but that was worth the privacy and relaxation. Fishing off the beach was better than the boats rented.

You definately need a rental car to get around the area and the nearby town of Barra de Petosi can provide almost all of the needs one might having during the stay.

We would go back in a heart beat and had a very hard time leaving the place. BEAUTIFUL!

This is JoAnna Brand, part of the Bob Worner party. I had a fabulous time!! The place was exactly what I imagined, and what I had hoped for as the spot for my 40th birthday celebration. The staff was wonderful, despite the language barrier (none in our party speaks Spanish). We only left the premises to go shopping for food or alcohol, and only went out to eat twice! The staff cooked great meals, made outstanding homemade guacamole with pan-fried tortillas, and the margaritas were FABULOUS. We will be back. And will be recommending to all our friends!

We loved everything about Casa Rosa. The beautiful villa, the wonderful staff, and the delicious food they prepared, the pool, the beach. The water was so warm, and the walks along the beach during the day, as well as at sunset, were spectacular. Yanet, Dominga, and Francisco were so warm and welcoming, as well as being very patient with our limited use of the Spanish language. This was the most relaxing vacation any of the ten of us had ever experienced. We did not leave to sight see very much because we did not want to miss a moment there. If there was one thing that could be improved, that would be the water situation. Getting a shower was like a lottery. You never knew if your shower would have enough, if any water flowing. It looks like that is something everyone on wells in the area has to deal with. That is the only "negative", but with all the positives about this beautiful home, it hardly counts.

The house is great, there are no close neighbors and the beach is practically for you.
The bedrooms are spacious, and the pool is large and has a very comfortable terrace.
Best of all, the people who serve you, the food is delicious and the staff very friendly.

We spent two relaxing weeks at Casa Rosa. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and offer privacy for all. The layout is great for big groups. The patio and pool area is super comfortable and offers awesome ocean views. We spent most of our time walking along the quiet beach, on the patio and preparing home cooked meals in the kitchen. We’ve visited this house several times in the past 15 years and plan to go back.

7 of my friends and I went here for a bachelor party, and everything was perfect. I would recommend Casa Rosa to a family, or a group of friends. The staff was great and so was the property. I just might make it an annual trip.

I sent a review to Marcia earlier, but let me just say that all four couples loved Villa Rosa and we would have stayed another week if we could have. The staff coundn't have been more accomodating, and the food was delicious and nicely served,.

The Villa was beautiful, clean and nicely maintained. We enjoyed the swimming pool all day, everyday! The bedrooms were large and comfortable, and having a private bathroom in each room is the only way to go! We felt pampered and enjoyed a very relaxing week.

The location of the house was spectacular. The house shows some signs of wear, the kitchen especially could use some updating. The property itself was well maintained. We were surprised that there was not a dish washer in a house that can accommodate 12 ppl.The coffee machine was also in bad shape. The location was everything. We would recommend the house to people looking for something in a more low key is definitely off the beaten path, however the close proximity to the airport was also a plus. It was great for a group of people traveling together. The pool and beach really makes this house what it is, sensational!

We had such a wonderful, and relazing time at Casa Rosa. The pictures online do not do the house justice, it is beautiful! The Pool/Palapa area is perfect for everyone. Yanet, Francisco and Dominga are all wonderful and took such great care of us! The food was amazing we never even went out for a meal because we felt we couldn't get any better than what we had with Yanet. I am hoping to come back some day and enjoy another vacation at Casa Rosa!

Loved the home and pool overall. The pictures are all true to life. The beautiful pool saved us, because the ocean was so rough it wasn't safe for children (ages 2 and 6). I wish we'd known that before we booked, as none of us went in the ocean at Casa Rosa after the first day when both kids got pulled into the ocean by the undertow in only inches of water. Too bad!! It was BEAUTIFUL to look at, though, and could see whales from the beach. Lots of walks on the beach.

A few things for the owner to know: the living room couch has fleas (or something?) that ate us up. Lots of ants and baby spiders throughout, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms, so I suggest guests bring Ziplock baggies in which to keep your things/food.

Having said all of that, we LOVED our time there and would love to go back when our children are older (or just the adults). It was wonderful having Yanet handle the cooking in the morning and evening! Everyone was very friendly, honest and helpful. None of the US/Mexican border issues are going on down there. We'll be back!!

Casa Rosa-perfect place for multi-generational family get-togethers.

Casa Rosa is an ideal place for urbanites to escape the hustle & bustle of everyday life to peace & quiet OR for ruralites, like us, who are accustomed to solitude to experience it in this tranquil, tropical, oceanfront setting.

Our stay at Casa Rosa was a wonderful experience. The setting is beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff at the house were kind but I think could be a little more helpful.

I would definetely return to casa Rosa but just as a comment new towels would be nice, we had some with holes on them. Also the general cleanliness of the kitchen specially the utensils and cookware could improve, all were really old and rusty. Just some simple details that would make for a straight A rental home.
We had a wonderful time!!!!!!!!!!

The online photos promised a beautiful house and landscape, but what we found was truly beyond belief. The house is thrilling, architecturally, and the location is quiet, private and inspiring. Our three generation family of twelve had many inviting choices for hanging out together or having some private time. Days were spent under the huge palapa which covered the patio courtyard and a portion of the infinity pool. One could always find shade. Evenings, we sprawled on the big, white couch to watch a movie or play games. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and was very private. The white sand beach, just steps away, was never crowded and we were often there for strolls or body surfing. We enjoyed cooking together in the well stocked kitchen, but liked even better our meals prepared by Yanet and her mother. Casa Rosa is an ideal setting for a family gathering!

We had a fabulous time!!!

Although the property itself was great and we really enjoyed our time there, we had an issue with the staff. They were very friendly and helpful when asked, and the meals prepared were very good. However, when we gave a list of menus we wanted prepared, we asked them to shop for us as we didn't know the exact ingredients we needed. When she gave us the receipt for the shopping, I noticed several things that I didn't think would have been needed for our meals. For instance, there was "menudo" listed. When I asked Yanet about it, she said it was to be used in our Chicken Enchiladas. I doubted that, but I didn't know enough about Menudo to truly question it. I then asked here about an item listed as "Chocolate". She looked at it, looked embarassed, and basically said she didn't know what it was. I deducted that amount from our receipt and paid her the difference. I didn't question any more items and went ahead and paid her for everything else, as I didn't want to take the time to go over the receipt item by item. However, I am pretty sure there were other things she was buying for herself or her family. I did not have her shop for us after that. It definitely put a damper on things, as I and the rest of our group felt like we were being taken advantage of.

Yanet, Francisco and Donminga were VERY pleasant. In general the property was well maintained. However, due to the salt air, there were several broken items that needed attention. Large fan in living, dining area, lounge chair bolt missing so when one sat the chair collapsed. Several lights at beds missing. Shower at gate to beach non functioning. Palm fronds and tree branches over path from house to beach so one had to push out of way. Due to our language barrier, I gave a 3 star on helpfulness. Despite that however, we did well.
