Casa Cielo Heaven
Reviewed on 2024-03-30 by Debbie R. , Denver, CO United StatesMy family of 6 adults and 3 young children had a fabulous time at Casa Cielo. The house was very clean and well equipped with boats, sand toys, beach chairs, etc. Marcello and Suzie, the house managers (cleaners and cooks) were so hospitable and pleasant. They cooked three meals for us - all were amazing-better than the restaurants! The snorkeling right in front of the house was quite good (even though it wasn't turtle season) but I recommend Yal Kul lagoon for snorkeling (get there early- tour groups come later). I highly recommend Casa Cielo for a relaxing family time!

Akumal Beach is a five-minute drive and has some fun restaurants and souvenir shops, and Turtle Bay Cafe has the best ice cream ever!
The caretakers, Susie and Marcy, went above and beyond, arranging a visit to their personal doctor when one of our little ones was ill. They also cooked a delicious meal for a relaxing evening in. (We also took advantage of the gas grill for another evening in.)
Welcome night fajitas and breakfast breads were much appreciated.
We would not hesitate to stay at Casa del Cielo again.
The villa is as described - beautiful, spacious and in a well-kept community. The beach area is fabulous, and we spent hours snorkeling, kayaking and floating in the warm Caribbean Sea. You do need water shoes – some are provided but we brought our own so I can’t comment on those provided. Contrary to the listing, the pool is not heated, but it is comfortable and clean.
The villa is well-equipped, from kitchen supplies to toys, games, beach towels and water sports equipment. Amazing!!! A bucket list item!
Reviewed on 2023-06-11 by Chris N. , Canon City, CO UnknownWe spent seven days/six nights at the Casa Cielo. It was an incredible trip. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The living room, a well-stocked kitchen and the dining area worked great for our family of 12. The casita worked perfectly for our teenage son and his buddy. The terrace was perfect for the sunsets. We spend hours on the covered patio. The shaded and beautiful private beach (which was kept sargassum free by workers daily) is steps from the house. The kids loved the private pool. Kayaks, a paddle board, pool toys, water shoes and snorkeling equipment are all readily available. The pictures don't do the property justice. Manda was incredible helping us schedule our trips to swim with the turtles, see Maya ruins and swim in a cenote, answering our questions, and bringing us breakfast pastries. Marci and Suzi cooked three meals for us and the two of them were one of our favorite parts of the trip! We HIGHLY recommend a stay at Casa Cielo and we hope to make it back sometime in the future.

Reviewed on 2023-02-27 by Linda K. , Chevy Chase, MD United StatesOur family of nine, ranging from 22 months to 65 years had a fantastic stay at Casa Cielo. We were all charmed by the Mexican decor and art and loved the ease of stepping out the door directly to the pool and beach. The house layout worked extremely well for our multiigeneration family. Akumal Direct was terrific and easy to deal with. The caretaker/chefs Susie and Marcelo were amazing. They prepared delicious local dishes and requested Mexican specialties each night for dinner. We were spoiled by the chefs and by house manager, Jen, who delivered fajitas, fresh fruit, and baked goods from Turtle Bay Cafe upon our arrival. Casa Cielo was ideal for us!
Great week at Villa Cielo
Reviewed on 2023-02-21 by James B. , Oconomowoc, WI United StatesThe onsite house keeping crew was very good, keeping the place clean without interfering with our use of the house.
I was concerned that there would be a shortage of restaurants within a close drive but there turned out to be several very good ones. We didn't have a bad meal and only had to drive 10 minutes. I'd recommend La Buena Vida, a fun place right on the water and for a unique experience try Namaste Jungle Restaurant. Namaste is has a unique setting right in a wildlife rescue preserve and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
One more note on the Cielo service. They provide kayaks and a SUP for use in the ocean. When we got there most of the paddles were in pretty bad shape. I messaged Jenn and the next day they delivered new paddles. What service.
One minor note, there is no hot tub and the pool is not heated so if you happen to be there during a cool spell it can be chilly
We rented Villa Cielo for a week in early Feb with our 4 adult children and their spouses. The house worked out perfectly for us. Each of the 5 bedrooms had its own bath (prefect when dealing with couples). The service we received was outstanding. Prior to our trip Marcia of ADR was very helpful even suggesting Easyway Rental Car which turned out to be a great option for our large group. Then once we got there Jenn took over as the house manager stopping by several times making sure we had everything we needed. When we arrived Jenn had arranged for a large platter of fresh fruit and Chicken fajita stir fry to be to be waiting for us. Perfect for the first night there when everyone is tired from flying in. Family Trip to Akumal
Reviewed on 2023-01-27 by , Rhinebeck, NY United StatesWe were a little disappointed as to how parts of the description met reality. "Daily Continental Breakfast" to me means cut up fresh fruit and pastries and coffee everyday. In reality it meant whole fruit and plate of muffins and coffee cake delivered upon arrival. So you need to cut up the fruit and prepare the coffee, for which no milk was provided. The breakfast provisions were only replenished when we inquired about replenishment. We paid to have our laundry done. When I inquired about these services before arrival I was told "wash, dry and fold". However the laundry was not folded. just stuffed into bags and all creased. The "daily housekeeping" was not until before lunch so we had to look at a very messy kitchen and lots of piled up dishes all morning. Regarding the chef services, after we agreed upon a price for cooking a gasoline charge was added for the shopping when we were settling the cooking fee. I'm not saying it shouldn't be charged, but it should be disclosed up front.
Also we were not able to use the pool as the water was waaaay too cold.
The house needs some maintenance. The drawers in the primary bedroom closet are almost all broken to some degree, one drawer had no bottom! The toilet in the half bath broke while we were there, it was fixed the next day. Though the house was "clean enough", it did not feel spotless.
Also, the child safety gate they provided did not fit the space so it was jerry rigged to fit the space and caused an accident where the gate gave way when my 3 year old granddaughter fell through the gate.
The location and layout of this property was fantastic. We were happy to be able to take a 5 minute walk on the beach for lunch or a 10 minute drive to Akumal Bay or Pueblo for other options. The Monkey Sanctuary is right near Pueblo and a great experience. Being able to walk out of the house to the pool and beach was a big plus. Jennifer the house manager, was very accommodating. Marci and Susie were very nice.
We were a little disappointed as to how parts of the description met reality. Amazing House, Incredible Wedding Venue
Reviewed on 2022-03-21 by , Rock Hill, SC United StatesWe did run into some maintenance issues that gave us the impression that the place needs some TLC. The casita's shower was broken for the first day and a half so our guests were unable to shower in their room after arriving from the airport, we had serious water leaking in several places in the master bedroom that required buckets to catch the leaks, and the AC in one of the guest rooms was out for several days with no fix, in the end, one of our guests who is a handyman found a screwdriver and fixed it themselves. The caretakers on the property were very nice and Suzy did an amazing job with housekeeping daily.
Overall, we really loved it here and hope to return one day. Our wedding was so intimate and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for a wedding venue or long stay in Akumal with some adjustments to maintenance. The house is bigger and better than the photos, book it!

Perfect family house
Reviewed on 2021-03-20 by Courtney H. , MexicoWe loved this house. We travelled with another family- 4 kids in total under 10. Plenty of space for everyone. Pool and beach toys for everyone. Kitchen is well stocked to handle a lot of people (plenty of utensils, plates, cups, etc) but I do suggest new cutting boards. AC units in all rooms so everyone could be comfortable sleeping. Spacious bathrooms. Beach! White fluffy sand. A reef break blocked the waves in our bay- this was a huge benefit we didn't know when we booked. It was windy when we went and the waves further north towards town were huge- like red flag- not safe for swimming. Care takers Marci and Suzi were such gems. The house, view, and staff were wonderful. Should have had the cook make more of our meals because her cooking was great. Only complaint I had concerned the ocean at this location. I would have preferred a sand bottom rather than a rocky bottom.

Reviewed on 2008-04-26 by Julie R. , Brooklyn, NY United StatesCasa Cielo is a fabulous home and the perfect place for a beach vacation. We have stayed in a number of different homes in the area and this one is our favorite!! The staff is wonderful, the home is comfortable and the location is perfect!! And great for families. The only problem we had was being scammed by the PEMEX station on our way out of town--beware!!
We loved Guille, Suzanna and Marsellie!
