We enjoyed our stay in Akumal. Great place with a lot to do. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance.
5/5* "Highly recommended for a relaxing vacation." by Val G., Jul 2017, TripAdvisor
We just came back from Akumal, and we loved our vacation!
Stayed at Luna Azul 7 (top floor) for 4 days (3 adults and a 9 year old). The view from our top floor was spectacular and we loved the breeeze and the sound of the waves.
The place was very clean, with daily maid service. Kitchen was well equipped.
Gualberto and Marcial from guest service were very friendly and offered needed help and advice.
The beach is good for snorkeling, but it does have corals pretty close to the shore, so if you are looking for kid-friendly beach, you'd have to walk some 15-20 minutes to the public beach. The walk is totally worth it as you can swim with the turtles there. We would (and most likely will) come back to this place again and again.
5/5* "Fantastic Stay!" by WitherShallWander, USA, Jun 2017, TripAdvisor
Our family of four (two adults, two kids) recently stayed in Condo #8, which is on the top floor. It was awesome. There are two bedrooms, each with its own bath. There is a small kitchen which is perfect for vacation cooking. There's also a dining table that works for eating, card games, puzzles, etc. Finally, there's a living room and balcony, both of which face the sea. We spent hours just watching the waves. The decor is nice, and the view is amazing. The beach is rocky, but that makes for great snorkeling. We saw many, many species of fish in the water and the kids had a great time just jumping in the waves. There were turtle eggs on the beach, but we didn't see any hatching. The daily housekeeping was terrific. They did a great job and were flexible about what time they came. Luna Azul is close to many attractions, and there's easy access to shops and restaurants. Parking was also easy. Overall, a great place to stay!!
5/5* "Great Beachfront Property" by Nick H., Mar 2017, VRBO
We just stayed in this unit 3/22-3/28 and it was awesome. The view is spectacular, the beach is super fun. We saw sea turtles when snorkeling just out front. The folks that run that place are friendly and helpful. We will certainly be going to try and go back.
The town of Akumal is super cool. There is a lagoon about a half mile north that also had fabulous snorkeling. We did a family sailing trip at the Akumal Dive Shop...also highly recommended.
5/5* "Beautiful" by vancouverbrenda, Vancouver, Nov 2016, TripAdvisor
Great place. Clean rooms, decent linen, fantastic location, efficient staff. Close to a great beach bar La Buena Vida. Snorkelling about 20 meters from your front door. A cool nature reserve nearby and an easy walk to town.
