About the Surroundings

Situated in Akumal Norte, The Reef offers shoreline strolling to Akumal Bay restaurants and dive shops and to Yal Ku Lagoon for tranquil snorkeling. For cenotes, Tulum’s beaches and ruins, eco-parks, and PGA Riviera Maya golf, we recommend a rental car or private driver; public transport is limited and the highway sits beyond an unpaved road.

We stayed here before, and it was nice before. Now after the remodeling it is even nicer. Everything we needed was provided, and they were almost immediately responsive to questions or needs. Perfect for a couple, fast internet, and we really enjoyed the private patio. There were many great restaurants, a convenience store and many things to do all within walking distance. Just steps from a relaxing beach area with plenty of chairs and incredible views!

The space was perfect for us. The location was beautiful and everything we needed was within a couple minutes walk. There were a couple of issues during our stay, but Akumal Direct and the management company were responsive, literally within minutes and were able to resolve them. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we will be back again!

This condo is very spacious. In essence it has two living areas plus a wonderful patio and pool right on the beach. It was perfect. We did miss the TV but we used our computer to replace the television. Isreal was very attentive and always on call if we needed him. There were several kayaks for the residents to use. The location was very safe and a wonderful place to walk to restaurants and other beaches.

This was our second visit to Half Moon Bay. Past time was at La Bahia.
We stayed one week in The Reef B, a surprisingly large one bedroom condo.
Very clean, easy check in and check out.
After reading other reviews we brought our own kitchen knives.
The condo could use an upgrade in sharp knives and pans (only one 6" skillet).
An umbrella at the outdoor table would also be great (odd that there isn't one).
David Palencia is an amazing concierge and helped book a tour of Cenote Santa Cruz - a must see! And he also arranged for a rental car and airport transportation.
We will definitely be back.

This property was a wonderful place to stay. Being right on the beach and ground level was so nice, being able to walk out your patio doors and be right on the beach. The condo was clean and stocked well with everything you need for your stay. There was maid service every other day. Loved our stay

The property is well maintained. needs some upgrades in the Kitchen. Onley 1 small frying pan no sharp knives and no way to sharpen them. The beach and outside areas are clean and safe. Have stayed in this unit in the past. just needs a little updating.

I’ve stayed at many different condos on Half Moon Bay and this is the first one I’ve found that is one bedroom and facing the bay. It is super cute and in a perfect location on the bay. An umbrella on the patio would make it perfect!!! Will definitely stay here again!

Beautifully kept,comfortable room, steps from the beach! Absolutely Nothing to complain about! The best staff ready to accommodate all your needs. 1 mile from Akumal at Turtle Bay, a nice walk or bicycle ride away from some Amazing food at several restaurants serving that days catch. Snorkeling opportunities are all around. Some for a fee, but still great without a guide! Yal-Ku Cenote is also a short trek away and well worth renting a palapa for the day for a private shelter for your snorkeling excursion. The Reef B is a Perfect spot for a Romantic go away!

Although Akumal in general seems a bit tired since our last visit in 2020, the accommodations are great here as they are located right on the beach.

Reef B was a perfect space for 2 people the bedroom, bathroom kitchen & seating area were all very comfortable. After informing staff on our late arrival we were greeted with our key as requested. no problem finding the villa there's only one road! We would stay here again.

Check in and check out is a breeze. The unit is tidy and efficient. And staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend an AC unit with different fan speeds; though you can "control" the temperature, the fan is either off or full blast. Also, while I understand the sea-grass, there was significant built it and no mitigation efforts. It made accessing the bay extremely unpleasant and difficult. I went to another location for a few day (not Akumal) and while there was sea-grass, in was significantly less and easier to navigate to get to the water.

I have been coming to Akumal since the late 70’s and have stayed in several of the condos represented by Loco ******. On a recent solo vacation I selected this condo and am already making plans to return. The location is quiet; away from the crowds in Akumal Bay; but close enough to a variety of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The property is meticulously maintained and the housekeepers are warm and friendly. Everything you need for s stress-free vacation is at your fingertips and a quick stop at the supermarket on the way allows you to fully stock your kitchen. For a meal out; do not miss La Lunita or Jungle Fish (just down the road). The only drawback is a burgeoning band of non-native raccoons who hang out in the greenery in front of the condo. They are clever creatures, capable of opening the screen doors!

We LOVED the condo. It is perfect for a couple. The bed was comfortable, the shower great. But mostly the view, and walking outdoors and being on the beach. What could be better!
