We had a wonderful stay. The property is great! Everything you need is there, and if not, the staff will help you get whatever you need or desire. Management, maintenance and housekeeping staff are wonderful! Had the maintenance man (Jaime) and his wife cook for us two evenings. The food was wonderful! Had a company come in and do massages that were fantastic! Great vacation place!

At the end of the bay so very private. This was a nice place to just enjoy time with our friends. Akumal is about a 5 minute drive. Can’t really walk there. Akumal Direct was super helpful because driving in you do have to pay attention to the detailed instructions they give. We did that and we had no trouble at all. House was perfectly clean and waiting for us :) We were all couples and liked the privacy of all the bedrooms. We had some great activities planned for almost every day, and spent a few days just enjoying the beach and snorkeling in front of the house. I would say the key to this excellent vacation was just that we really planned. I had really well and I think that paid off for us. Thank you everyone for a great stay!

We had an amazing time at Casa Chaca with our family! As all the other reviews have said, pictures cannot do this place justice. The property was absolutely stunning, with our own access to, and view of, the beach. We checked in based on very precise directions and instructions, and although were not able to meet Guille the property manager, Marcia was in touch with us regularly, and very promptly, about everything from restaurant recommendations to any help we needed on the property. Elena and Jaime, the property staff, were both very kind and hardworking, and even though there was a language barrier, they were keen to be helpful and ensure we were all comfortable. We also consulted David, the concierge, for many suggestions and tips regarding the area and were very happy with his thorough feedback. All their efforts, and the beauty of the property, helped make this a really memorable vacation for my family. Thank you all, we hope to return, and I would highly (!) recommend for a family vacation.

This was the most spectacular place we have ever been to. House is magnificent and the property on the oceanfront was like being in paradise. Staff was incredibly attentive, and swimming and kayaking from your own private beach an experience that has to be lived to believe. I cannot say enough about how incredible our stay was. Absolutely outstanding.

We were looking for a very special place, this place and the people exceeded all expectations. You could not be more on the beach and so beautifully maintained. It is really well laid out with separate areas making the ease of comfort to enjoy with a number of people. Most amazing place! We spent everyday snorkeling or kayaking right out the back door. And when we needed a break we hung out watching the gulf from one of the many options for outside relaxing - on your own personal beach; covered balcony or deck outside your bedroom or living room; the hammock. It was truly magical. I agree with the review that said pictures do not do this place justice

The photos on this listing do not do this home justice. It is absolutely stunning. And the views of the reef are amazing. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are very good sizes, perfect for three couples or even 2 small families. The hospitality, ground services, cleaning services, and 24 hr security were off the chart. We really enjoyed every part of our stay

Casa Chaca was the perfect setting for our sibling vacation. Each couple had their own spacious room, patio and bathroom.
Elena and Jamie were great. Jamie and his wife cooked us dinner at the house one night as well.

Words honestly cannot express how much we loved Casa Chaca! The house was gorgeous and beautifully maintained. Elena and Jaime paid attention to every detail in keeping the property looking immaculate. Marcia was the most wonderful host in helping us feel at home and arranging transportation to some local sites. The property itself was amazing! My family of 6 stayed there comfortably and had plenty of space to spread out. Two of my daughters LOVED having the freedom of staying in the detached casita. We felt 100% safe staying there with the security gates and the local security guard right next door. The view from the back patio is breathtaking! We spent every evening relaxing on the patio and in the hammock, listening to the sound of the gentle waves. It was wonderful to have the kayaks to explore the bay. I could go on and on about this place and would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Upon booking our trip to the Yucatan Peninsula I had my heart set on Tulum, and thought I was settling when we booked our stay in Akumal. Boy was I wrong. We had the best time in Akumal and a huge part of the success of our vacation was because of our accommodations at Casa Chaca. The home has all the modern amenities to ensure comfort along with the cultural flair we were looking for. The house is located in a small neighborhood with 24 hour security so we always felt safe. The convenience of the location to Akumal Playa came in very handy for supermarket trips, tours, and dining. There was plenty of room in the house for our family of 5 to spread out. The kids had the casita to escape to if they wanted, and my husband and I were grateful for the privacy of the entire upper floor. We cooked several meals at the house and probably enjoyed that more than eating out.
We love our privacy which is why we choose vacation homes over hotels, so I wasn't sure how I felt about having staff there every day. But Elena and Jaime were absolutely amazing. I was blown away by their attention to detail. I came to look forward to seeing Elena's smiling face every day. She assisted us with laundry when we needed it and was always very respectful. We spent a lot of time in the backyard soaking up those ocean views, kayaking, and snorkeling. Jaime always made sure the backyard was in tip top shape for us to enjoy. Our first night in the house we had the pleasure of Jaime cooking a Welcome Dinner for us. We didn’t know, but dinner meant they took care of set up, service, and clean up - wow! We felt so spoiled! We also have to give a shoutout to Marcia. Having someone nearby that spoke English was such a relief. After meeting her once we felt like we had made a friend that we could rely on for our stay. She gave us invaluable tips and advice that helped us overcome the Spring Break crowds. We had an incident where my son cut his toe at the beach. When we got home Marcia brought over antibiotics to help clean out his cut and the next day we found a first aid kit on our doorstep. These details and acts of thoughtfulness are what we will remember for years to come. Thank you for having us Casa Chaca! We already miss the beautiful sunrises on the terrace.

Fantastic South Akumal house!

My family of 4 (kids 14 and 12) had a spectacular time visiting Casa Chaca in February of 2017. The house is located on the beach at the southern end of the South Akumal area. The bay is terrific for snorkeling and there are 4 1-person kayaks for use. It's not 100% sand, so water shoes make things easier. You can walk along the beach into Akumal, but it takes 30 minutes to do so. It's an easy 5-minute drive to the town, though. The house is terrific with a HUGE master suite, a comfortable second bedroom, and a very large detached "casita" with queen bed. The 14-year old had his own pad! All have AC but we didn't ever use it in Feb. The grounds are tended by Jaime, who is great. He and his wife also cooked dinner for us one night - we'd do at least one more night (2 out of 7) when visiting again. Elena looks after the house and she's also terrific. A truly 5-star experience! XelHa is only 5 miles to the south and worth a day. Lots of other great things to do in the area between Tulum and Playa del Carmen. This was our second trip to Akumal and we can't wait to visit again!

Our rental was 6 nights. 8 people comfortably were accomodated. The casita was great as it is a separate house that our parents were able to stay in for additional privacy. Pool was perfect size for our 10 and 13 year old. Great snorkeling, nice kitchen and amenities. The only downside is there is not any restaurants in walking distance for older people. The younger people in our group walked to 2 beachside bar/casual dining but really you need to drive for a meal. The house was in a gated community and we felt very safe. We saw beach patrols regularly.

Great house and staff. Had everything you need, and if not, the staff will assist you in getting it. Recommend you have Jaime cook for you! Pibil chicken was excellent!

My husband and I have been to Akumal three times and stayed twice at Casa Chaca, and will always stay there each time we visit this magical place. The home is perfect, on the beach with gorgeous sunrise out your back door. We love kayaking in the sparkling bay and snorkling as well, walking to the local beach club, the Jungle Fish for drinks, appetizers and fresh caught fish for dinner. The staff is wonderful and helpful and the locals are so friendly. We love the quiet, yet extremely safe atmosphere this beautiful place has to offer and will be back as soon as we possibly can!

The house was well appointed and perfectly situated on the beautiful Akumal bay. The staff was lovely and helped make our stay better. Would recommend this location to anyone.

Loved the house, beach, support staff, location, and standing in the ocean doing nothing! No complaints at all. A car is needed for this location.

When we got home from our family vacation I asked everyone what their favorite part of the trip was. I expected to hear "Mayan ruins" or "parasailing" or "restaurants" ... but nope. Unanimously, it was: "the house!" What a wonderful stay ... away from the crowds, safe and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. So entertaining with amazing fish snorkeling and fun kayaking right out the front door, and the kids splashing in the pool. We loved having a kitchen to make our own breakfasts (leisurely, inexpensive), and we wish we had hired Jaime for more than one dinner (delicious, relaxed) at the house. The wifi made it easy to plan our days, the separate bathrooms made it easy for everyone to be comfortable, the hammocks and various tables/seating made it easy for everyone to find a spot to eat/read/chill. And waking up to the sunrise over the ocean was just ... inspiringly joyful. Casa Chaca was the best part of our trip. :) THANK YOU!!!

absolutely loved our stay at Casa Chaca! It was just as advertised and we couldn't have been more pleased. Quiet, safe, clean and beautiful. So much to do in the surrounding area (Tulum is about a 15 minute drive, as are the Tulum Ruins, many cenotes, etc). Will most definitely come back here again!
