Description

The waterfall pool in front of Casa Dena by Akumal Direct Reservations gives you a relaxing area to lay out or keep cool, while enjoying the sights and sounds of the jungle surroundings. Located across from the 5m x 2m pool is the BBQ area where you can prepare your meal just the way you like it, with an easy to use gas grill and plenty of counter space. Parking, beach towels, purified water and professional cleaning service 6 days per week is included. Chef services are available for an additional fee. Please reach out to us for the menu.

The large granite kitchen area has everything you need to prepare meals, or let Armando and Daisy our live in cooks prepare you some of their favorite Mayan and Mexican dishes (additional fee). We suggest using Riviera Maya Groceries and having your fridge fully stocked upon arrival. Or go to Tulum to shop once you arrive. Enjoy the complimentary drinks, guacamole, and salsa prepared for your arrival and explore your new home away.

The living room was designed to flow with the kitchen and dining area keeping everyone involved in conversations throughout the home. The dining area seats eight with an additional six bar seats around the large kitchen island, or if you prefer you can take your meals outside to the patio and enjoy the ocean breeze while dining.

Casa Dena has three ocean facing master suites, all with king size beds. Bedroom four has two double beds for larger parties or makes a great room for the kids, with plenty of extra room for setting up the inflatable queen size mattress or our portable crib (available upon request). All bedrooms are air conditioned and have private marble baths and large balconies with full ocean views. AC in bedrooms only.

Relaxing at Casa Dena is made easy with several lounge chairs located on the pool and beach sides of the house. We also have a large palapa on the beach, which provides plenty of shade for taking a siesta in one of the colorful hammocks. On the roof we have designed a wonderful seating area for watching the sunrise, working on your tan, watching the millions of stars on a clear night, or throwing a great rooftop party.

    Amazing, peaceful, clean and highly recommended!

    Our stay at the property was amazing! It was the most peaceful vacation I think I've ever taken. The property was clean and Armando was such a sweetheart. He suggested a restaurant for us just a few doors down on our first night since we were confused about what to do for dinner. The guacamole and salsa prepared at check-in was phenomenal. He and his wife also cooked an amazing meal for us. The scenery cannot be explained in words, we spent a lot of time just watching the water in the hammocks. I would highly suggest renting a car as that was our biggest mistake. The property is pretty far back from the main roads but it doesn't take long to get into Tulum or Azumal, taxis were extremely expensive so it's best to rent a car. The property manager also stopped past and made us feel very welcomed. It is a true beach house. I'd highly recommend booking and would love to stay again!

    We absolutely loved this house. From the moment you open the door to when you drive away, the house is so welcoming. Armondo and Daisy went above and beyond. Their food was such a nice added bonus and felt so personal. We loved that is was offered. Would absolutely return and highly recommend to friends and family!

    We were two families who spent almost two weeks at Casa Dena and loved it!
    The location was perfect in between to beautiful bays- Tankah and Soliman. We loved being able to snorkel just a short walk from the house in either direction. The location is perfect and there is so much to do just a short drive from the house. You definitely need a car to stay there but it’s worth it as there’s so much to do. We wished we had to spent another week or two there.
    Our kids, all teenagers, loved all the space especially the rooftop terrace, The pool, the hammocks, the sand and the water right outside the house, especially having all the space. This definitely came in handy when it was time for them to do their remote schooling our last few days of the trip.
    Our favorite part was the caretakers- Daisy, Armando, and their dog lassie. They made us feel so welcome and at home, cooked fabulous meals and were so helpful if we needed them. Daisy’s guacamole is to die for! They are just a lovely couple to chat with without invading your space.
    We definitely enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Casa Dena for one or more families.

    We had a fantastic stay here with friends! The palapa was great and the house was a short walk to a little beach club. It is a ways from town so I wouldn’t recommend the property if you didn’t have a car but with our rental, it was no issue and the location was so quiet and beautiful! The house staff was amazing and were able to help out in any way we needed. I highly recommend the property and the entire process was super easy.

    This house is immaculate and the views can’t be beat. Armando and Daisy take incredible care of the house and of the guests. Their cooking beat all the trendy restaurants in Tulum. I have not a single complaint about this house. Favorite parts: The rooftop deck for staring at the stars. The immaculate beach right outside our doors. Lassie the dog greeting us every morning. Cooking in the state of the art kitchen.

    My husband, our friends and I have been vacationing on the Yucatan for about 19 years now. We have stopped doing all-inclusive resorts in favor of renting villas. We love the privacy and relaxing atmosphere of having our own place on the beach. Casa Dena just topped the charts. The house was lovely, spacious and quite beautiful. Lots of space to either be together or separate when we wanted time apart. The ocean front, waking up to the waves, ocean smell and sounds truly made this the perfect get away. Daisy and Armando, the caretakers, we great and they were wonderful cooks as well. The whipped cream AND the cherry on top was Lassie, the resident dog. We are all pet owners and she was a joy. She greeted us first thing each morning, kept us company, took walks with us on the beach and then was an excellent guard dog. We knew she would be there so we brought her a tennis ball chucker and we all had a great time with her. The house is close to Tulum and we found our way back to several favorite restaurants from previous trips. Oscar and Lao's is just minutes south and on into Tulum on the beach is Zamas Restaurant. Both have fantastic food. Daisy cooked a number of meals for us and all were wonderful. Don't just stick to the suggested menu, give her free reign and she will put a delicious meal in front of you. We hope to go back next year and make this a frequent place to take our winter vacation.

    This is a lovely house and the caretakers were attentive but not intrusive. Everything was spotless and the house is in excellent condition. It's easy to get into town for shopping, yoga, and meals, or just walk down the road a bit to a relaxed restaurant and swimming area. We swam in several "cenotes" (new to me!) in the area, also. There's a ground floor bedroom if a guest needs accessibility, but several steps up to the front door. We are hoping to return in the coming years!

    We had our wedding ceremony and reception on the beach at Casa Dena in hopes of celebrating with a small group of friends and family in an intimate setting. Casa Dena was perfect! We stayed 5 nights and wish we had stayed longer. The house is beautiful, well maintained and extremely clean. Casa Dena is located on a dirt road off the main highway allowing for a true getaway but close to a few restaurants and a cenote. Having a car is essential to explore the surrounding area as taxis get expensive. We appreciated details of the house including the welcoming guacamole and margaritas (really nice touch after the travel to get there), water pitchers in the bathroom to brush your teeth with filtered water, hammocks under a palapa overlooking the ocean, and safes in each room. The house is well built making it possible to find a quiet spot even in a group of eight people. The rooftop has a great view of the area including the jungle side of the road and beach complete with cozy cushions to relax with coffee in the sun. Daisy and Armando were kind and generous. My biggest regret is not arranging for them to cook for us. Whatever we needed, they were there to help. Their dog, Lassie, was our watchdog and would walk with us down the road at night or during the day. She was extremely well behaved and a nice addition to our party. We will forever have great memories of our wedding here at Casa Dena. Thank you!

    Came here to celebrate my best friend's bachelorette party. Location is great and just a 20 minute drive into the downtown Tulum area. Would highly recommend renting a car and driving around because we did get ripped off a few times with taxis. The property itself is wonderful, with all necessary amenities and you can't beat waking up to the sunrise every morning and falling asleep to the sound of waves. Daisy and Armando are amazing, and incredible cooks. Definitely have them make huevos rancheros- one of the best meals we had during our trip. They were extremely helpful as was Monica, the property manager. There is a great seafood shack right by the casa with delicious ceviches, tacos, etc and very reasonably priced. Casa Dena is very spacious and there's lots of spots to lounge and relax, including the amazing roof! Can't wait to come back.

    Casa Dena is a great place to stay in the Tulum area. This is our second time at this home and it proved, once again, to be an excellent choice. The home offers great views from every room, are all very comfortable and roomy. Even when you are there with a group, there are nooks to sneak off to read or have some time to yourself. The rooftop is probably my favorite place to hang out. Daisy and Armando took very good care of us, and their pup, Lassie, filled our days with laughs and fun...especially when missing our own dog. If we head that direction again for a vacation, we will start and end our search for a place to stay, at Casa Dena.

    The property was fantastic and exactly what I was looking for. I preferred the privacy of the neighborhood. The property was immaculate. The home had enough space for all of us to enjoy the wonders of the beach and sea. Staff was higher than 5 stars. D&A made the best food I had in Mexico. Bonus. I actually saw the turtle come up on the beach.

    My family of 6 and I stayed for a week. and it was amazing the house was so nice and well taken care of. Daysi and Armando were so kind and helpful. also their dog Lassie. we got to see many turtles come to surface at night. saw shooting stars. and it was overall so nice.I will for sure be coming back.

    This rental was very comfortable for our group of six adults. The ocean views were wonderful and it was a very quiet, safe and scenic location. It is a bit off the road, but we had a rental car so had no problem getting to Tulum and Akumal. The caretakers, Armando and Daysi were wonderful. They kept the property very neat and clean and we highly recommend their chef services. We had three delicious authetic Mexican meals and it was well worth the price! We also enjoyed interacting with their friendly dog Lassie.
    Overall a great stay and relaxing family vacation.

    We had a perfect holiday here over Christmas! The house is gorgeous and spacious - perfect for our two families (4 adults + 4 children). The children enjoyed the pool, the hammocks and the beach. We snorkeled and explored the rocks and tide pools. It was lovely to be in a quiet secluded spot but still close enough to Tulum and other areas. My husband was able to kitesurf from this spot too!

    Armando and Daisy are amazing. They take wonderfully good care of the house and prepared us some delicious dinners. We loved Casa Dena and extended our stay an extra day because it was hard to leave!

    We loved the area and the fact that you could walk to other restaurants and resorts to grab a drink yet the home was very private. Armundo and Daisey were excellent chefs and we felt as ease knowing they were right next door keeping an eye on things. The house was lovely and we would definitely stay here again. I only wish the other half of our guests who were supposed to come and stay here would have made it to the house.

    Casa Dena was everything we hoped for. The pictures do not do it justice. It was beautiful! All the bedrooms have a direct view of the water. Armando, Daysi and their daughter Ebony were awesome! They work tirelessly to keep the property clean and well- manicured. We will definitely be staying here again. We rented a vehicle, so we had no difficulty getting to and from the area. We loved that we were somewhat secluded. The restaurant and bar down the road were amazing and very welcoming. We left some clothes behind at the house and Akumal Properties made sure the clothes were returned to us. Such a wonderful place to stay and their service is impeccable!!

    House was beautiful and supplied everything you could want in a home away from home! Daisy & Armando were perfect care takers and live right on the property so are available for any need you have! They are also available to cook meals if you desire, we had them do that for only one dinner and wished we had done more! Beautiful sand beach but the ocean at this location is total coral reef, so swimming is possible, but further out due to shallow coral and rock and swim shoes are a must! The pool is on the front of the house and didn't have sun on it until mid afternoon, it isn't heated so a little too chilly for us but is is January so I'm sure it warms up nicely in Spring & Summer, although we had beautiful weather! Only reason we gave it a 4-star rating for location is that it was almost at the end of the road and was a bit of a drive to get to Casa Dena. Both the property manager and the concierge were fantastic, easy to work with and were most helpful in arranging everything from airport transport to expeditions to beach massages! Can't say enough good about this property and the experience our family enjoyed!!!

    We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at Casa Dena. The villa is beautiful and caretakers Armando and Daysi are special. It has everything that we needed... and less. Less noise, less crowds and less stress! But peace and quiet comes at a cost. While there are several restaurants nearby, Tulum is a drive away - especially at night. Better to take a taxi. Thanks for sharing your house!
