The place is beautiful, you can hear the wave from your room and there is access to private beach. We went swimming in the beach in front of the property and saw so many fishes and coral. Akumal in general is very quaint and quiet. The wi-fi was out for when we were there but it was not the hosts fault (there was outage in the whole area). The host is very responsive - overall a great place to stay.

We are so grateful for our time in Akumal. The condo was gorgeous with spectacular views. Just a walk downstairs to the pools, one looking out to the ocean and the private beach with lounge chairs. Just amazing! Highly recommend!

Read the detailed handbook before arriving. The addresses and instructions are extremely helpful. Great communication before, during, and after the stay. The pictures are extremely accurate. The views are amazing. The private beach is right on the water. Neighborhood is extremely safe with National Guard right down the street. Maid comes daily, even on the weekends. She did an amazing job and we never had issues with bugs. Highly recommend renting a car. You are very close to Tulum and other great adventures! I’ve already reached out to book again for a relaxing family vacation. This Airbnb was exactly what I needed to recharge and disconnect from a stress at work.

The location and view of this apartment could not be better! The beach was very well maintained and we enjoyed the resident iguanas! The WiFi was a bit spotty but the owners did what they could and were responsive! I miss being there already!

Book this place now! I’ve stayed in so many places in Akumal, Tulum, Holbox and around the world and THIS place is in the top ten favorites. You can walk to Yal-Ku for excellent snorkeling or right out front to snorkel in the bay. I saw eels, stingray, more fish and urchin than I could believe. The views are unmatched, the kitchen is stocked with all you need to cook, plenty of beach chairs, very quiet, you can hear the waves all day and night. It’s a home away from home. It’s not a party getaway it’s a true way to disconnect and enjoy nature. Jungle walks are so peaceful. The community is gated which add to sense of safety. Most people wore masks where needed. Water and ice is there for you and the blender was great for making drinks. There are a few cute restaurants in the area as well but due to Covid I didn’t go. I recommend stopping at a grocery store on the way and renting your own car and enjoying local produce with your cooking! Personal note to all staying here: PLEASE respect the reef. I saw so many people walking on it with fins or no shoes. Besides the possibility that you could get seriously injured, this destroys this little ecosystem. Would love if signs or tips were on the property. Also, be careful of rip currents. I got caught in one. Just swim parallel to shore.

Our first time staying at La Iguana condos was an excellent experience and we will certainly be returning! The place was impeccably clean from the pool areas, to the stairs leading up to the condo to the condo itself. Hector runs a tight ship and it shows. He takes great pride in making sure the place is spotless. And he is just the sweetest man! We can’t wait to come back to see him and Ivan again! Our maid service was top notch as well. Everything about this place was excellent! Being able to walk out into the water to snorkel without sargassum was another nice feature. The view from our 3rd floor was second to none and we oogled at it every morning! We will definitely be back to La Iguana condos! Thank you!

We had an amazing time returning after many years! The maintenance and maid staffs were wonderful. The unit had everything we needed and then some. The unit was clean and comfortable and in a great location! The view is otherworldly! We will be back soon!

We had a wonderful time in Akumal! We loved everything about our condo at La Iquana. The only thing I would say was missing was enough cookware/tupperware but other than that it was a lovely place by the sea! Our housecleaner Leila was so sweet and on top of everything. The bed was extremely comfy. We left windows open and there was such a lovely breeze all day.

We loved being right on the water and having pools too. Chairs available. Beautiful views from living room. Thank you for drinking water provided, would have liked the condo stocked with basic pantry including coffee. Furniture could use a facelift, cushions faded and torn. Bed comfortable, and great to have AC in bedroom. Walkable to lagoon, restaurants, and basic convenience store. Do recommend bike or golf cart or car for those who can't walk 20-30 min each way.

Excellent host who moved us from another unit they owned at Del Sol Beachfront to La Iguana due to the seaweed at the Del Sol location. True to their word the seaweed was far better at this place than further south along the bay. There was little to no seaweed at the beach in front of La Iguana and a significant amount further south. Highly recommend this location as the water was far cleaner and better for swimming and snorkeling.

Very nice condo. Beautiful view!!
Lovely grounds. Only thing to consider is distance from town. Either rent a car or a bicycle or expect a long walk to get to center of town. Would stay again.

First of all we were an unexpected late arrival (10:30 p.m.) due to a five-hour delay and could not call ahead so it was such a relief that the condo was left unlocked for us with a note on the office door telling us what to do. THANK YOU!

The microwave was broken, and the toaster oven was missing a knob so it had to be turned on using a knife blade. The in-room safe did not work and the manager promised to send someone to fix it but no one ever showed up. The maintenance staff were painting the exterior in the rain and paint was running everywhere for 3-4 days (stairs, walkways). The slippery step edge leading to condo entrance was not marked so I neever saw the downward step and tripped, pitched forward and injured my knee and elbow in the fall.

This was a beautiful condo but it was strange that it had no outdoor balcony to enjoy that ocean view. The swimming pools were very nicely maintained, however. For the price we were willing to accept these minor issues. I would recommend this condo to a friend, but with some caution.

We loved everthing about Akumal. we wished we had had more than 11 days to experience it all!! The maids kept our room spotless and went the extra mile. Hector the manager was friendly and helpful. We loved his whistling!! The only glitch in the whole trip was the king sized stone tablet we slept on. We bought an eggshell foam mattress pad that helped a little. But a hard bed wasn't enough to even dampen our spirits the tiniest bit. The snorkeling, the food, the beaches, the diving was all fantastic. Akumal direct gave us all the info we needed to have the vacation of a lifetime!!! We are coming back!

My husband and I spent 9 days at La Iguana for our wedding anniversary, and we could not have been happier with where we chose to stay. La Iguana has the most beautiful panoramic views right from your living window, all you need to stay in and cook, or walk a few minutes to one of the awesome restaurants. It was perfectly quaint, with a beautiful place to lay by the water as well as snorkeling right outside of the condo. The AC in our bedroom worked great and kept us cool at night. Truly no complaints about this place if you are looking for a serene getaway.

It's a very nice appartment with a beautiful view in the bay. The staff is very good and the appartment is clean. But There aren't curtains on the windows of the room that overlooks the corridor of the entry ! Moreover, the residence is far walk from the sandy beach which is very inconvenient. There are the beach in front of the residence but there are coral and rocks. The car is therefore necessary.

I loved the little town of Akumal and loved the location of the condo the only thing that was a little rough was that #6 is on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators. I'm goin back this year but I'm renting a unit on the second floor . My husband has a bad back and can't do all those stairs. Best view in town...sunrise and sunsets

In general very happy with the condo. Good views. quiet and relaxing. The only issue we had was the lack of helpfulness from the manager at the location. Would only say yes,yes,yes and not help at all. Got the feeling he just wanted to show us the keys and be left alone for the rest of the time. Also very dissappointed with all the additional costs (beach towels, use of workout room, etc...)

Our first impression of our room was " Wow what a view" We were there for three days only after staying at another property that was like home to us. Hardly a fair comparison. When the breeze blew in just the right direction it was fine. About 50% of the time however it was stuffy and humid. Other residents said that units on the north end were more breezy. It made for hot sleeping at night and the bed was typical Mexico hard. The snorkeling from there was some of the best in the area. We were never given a key to our lock box, they could'nt find it, and my wedding ring was stolen from our room. My hands swell with the heat and salty food and I had hid it in my case. I found it was missing when I was unpacking at home. I quess it was my fault but no, I probably would'nt recommend La Iguanna.

View is great, pools are unique and refreshing, Staff is super friendly and the place is well taken care of. The kitchen in the unit could have been a little better equipped.
