Description

Luna Azul Condominium, Unit #6. Fresh, bright and very cute! This third level unit offers exceptional views of Half Moon Bay and the Caribbean beyond. The beachside terrace is a perfect place to watch the sea turtles feeding and playing in the bay, schools of tropical fish, osprey, pelicans and other marine wildlife. The breezes come off the bay and all is quiet and private. The interior is well appointed and very comfortable for guests.

The unit offers a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee maker and all appliances that you may need to prepare your own meals or enjoy snacks and cold drinks on the beach. Off of the kitchen is the dining area with seating for five. From the living and dining areas you can enjoy the view of Half Moon Bay through a wall of windows and sliding doors leading to the beachside terrace. The terrace is furnished with hammock and table and chairs for you to enjoy the breezes and sounds of the surf.

To the rear of the unit are two bedrooms. The master bedroom is spacious and private with large master bath and king bed. In the master bedroom there is a large television with SKY Satellite service offering programming in both English and Spanish. The guest bedroom is furnished with one double bed and one single bath and enjoys a private bath. AC in bedrooms and living area.

Luna Azul is one of our favorite condominium properties. It has a great central location within walking distance to Akumal's Yal-Ku Lagoon, restaurants and other services. The management here is excellent and always takes great care of our guests.

KINDLY NOTE: During the summer months, south winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Riviera Maya. Please know that our onsite teams work very hard to ensure the best possible beach conditions for your stay. As a consideration, you may also see special seasonal discounts applied to during the summer months.<

The Riviera Maya is full of natural beauty, places to explore and opportunities for outdoor activities. We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. Excellent condo that is well stocked including games when it rains. The staff was courteous and included a cleaning during our stay. It would be perfect for a family of 4 unless two children could sleep in the double bed.

We loved the place and highly recommend this condo. We would choose this again!

This is a lovely place to stay in Akumal - warm and cosily furnished, filled with little thoughtful touches that make for a very comfortable stay. It is a good location, right on the beach, and a 10-15 minute walk to the main beach where you can do the swimming with turtles and snorkeling activities.

Staying in Luna Azul was our first time trying Airbnb and we had a great experience! The pictures were exactly the same as the condo and the beach access. It was so cool how close we were to the lagoon, yummy restaurants, and the dive shop for snorkeling tours. The management company and maids were very friendly and always ready to help. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. It was amazing, BEST trip ever! You can also rent bikes or gold carts which is a nice touch.

Loved loved loved our first time to Akumal! We were greeted by Adrian who showed us to the perfect condo! Took the time to give us great ideas for our 4 day stay with our 20, 17 & 16 year olds. Wifi never went out even though it stormed each night. Everything is a short drive although there is no need to leave the town. The Cafe has delicious baked goods! The private Beach is beautiful. I don’t do well with rocks, my kids are pros! We also spent a day at the main Beach (only $5.00 per person for the entire day) and went out to snorkel the clear water reefs and yes swam with turtles and schools of fish! I can’t say enough! Can’t wait to go back! Oh last but not least, thank you Adela! Always nice to come back to a clean home!

This place is paradise. Filled with air, and light and perched on an amazing reef, with gentle surf and glorious light, situated so you enjoy both sunrise and moonrise. You will absolutely enjoy it. Make sure you get a massage down the street at the Hare Krishna place, have dinner at La Lunita, breakfast at Buena Vida and ice cream at Turtle Bay Bakery. Swim at the Yal Ku lagoon, and above all, breathe, love and live! Thank you so much. Blue Azul 6 was so awesome, we extended our stay. I can’t say enough about the hosts, or the unit. It is beautifully decorated and superb in terms of location. The beds are extremely comfortable and the condo flooded with light and air. The guest amenities are generous and thoughtful. Everything works and there is enough dinner wear, glasses, cutlery and anything outdoors need to cook and enjoy eating in. We will definitely return.”

Fabulous place, perfect location, we did not rent a car or take a taxi the entire time. We were adventurous enough to walk the road to get to a different part of a Akumal's main beach where lots of little shops and probably the best food I've had in my life which was Turtle Bay Cafe.

This condo has everything the other two had as far as amenities. A few games. A good selection of a few DVD movies, books etc. Bring your pun snorkel gear this is a snorkel beach put back not a swimmy Sandy one. We like to stop at the grocery store on the right of the highway one hour south of Cancun and get the majority of what we will eat that week we like to stock up on chips salsa and fruits for homemade shakes and daiquiris they have a blender. We spent $135 and our groceries lasted us all week. There is very many grocery stores just in the back alley of the property if you forgot everything! So perfect they sell eggs by themselves for three pesos each and have this amazing delicious homemade Mexican ice cream put into the shells of the fruit they were made from in a deep freezer. Our favorite is La Buena Vida restaurant which is only about a three to five minute walk a few condos over you can walk on the street or the beach the food is exceptional happy hour is 5 to 6 and drinks are only $2 to $2.50 each we like to take advantage of that our LOL. You can feel safe here they are on top of security. Also remember to check in at the office at La Bahia just a few condos further.

Our family of 2 adults, 2 teens enjoyed our stay at Luna Azul. The condo is right in the middle of Half Moon Bay, north of the town of Akumal. We have stayed on this bay many times before and we were glad to see that not much has changed there--it is still a beautiful, peaceful place! Luna Azul condo was decorated in the spirit of Mexico, had all the supplies we needed to cook breakfasts and lunches, and the beds and showers were nice. The patio could be bigger--it would have been nice to be able to eat out there, but the views were spectacular! We were in condo #6 on the third floor. We were told there would be a safe, but we couldn't find one...it wasn't a problem, however. The maid service was great--it was nice having someone do the dishes. Wi Fi worked ok. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Stayed in the condos in area before. Unit 6 is on 3 rd floor, no elevator but not bad. They had security and nice staff. Always felt very safe. Housekeeper did our dishes. We used to stay in casitas akumal but started staying in condos. Yes more money but much nicer and roomier than hotel room. We go to store about 20 min away and buy about 100 dollars worth of food and cook our breakfast and lunches there then have dinners out. If you dive a lot the dive shop is too far away to walk and the golf carts are too expensive to rent - 40 a day. I took taxi one time and they carged me 70 pesos, way too much. So you have to plan transportation.

This place was amazing! It was quiet and relaxing - the sounds of the waves put us to sleep each night. There was a lot of seaweed, but that didn't stop us from having a great time! We just had to walk down the beach a short way and snorkeled daily. We didn't have a car; it was a short walk to the general store and a few restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite was La Lunita - it was delicious! The unit is perfect - we will be back!

We very much enjoyed our two weeks at Luna Azul #6. The condo is charmingly decorated, centrally located and an easy walk to 3 restaurants, a mini super and Yalku Cenote. Also only a short drive to Akumal main beach, 2 more markets and several good restaurants. We hope to return next year!

the place was good, but it was a bit run down in places. The towels were worn out, the beds were pretty comfortable, but it was cooler than previous years and they didnt have enough blankets. The refrigerator wasnt very cold and we were concerned about the food inside. One of the toilet seats was hanging by a screw and had to be fixed. There was a broken window slat that whistled in the wind! The toaster worked on and off. Otherwise it was nice. i think i would try a different condo next time, the location was great. The staff were great and did the best they could.

We enjoyed our winter holiday staying in Unit #6 at Luna Azul. The Akumal area has a community feeling and the views are spectacular. The large windows and patio give you the feeling of being outside even when you are inside, which is lovely. The kitchen has all that you need to prepare meals. All of the rooms are spacious....even the bathrooms...and the decorations are tasteful and give a touch of the local culture. The unit is very clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed being a few steps from the beach and also being within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Akumal. In this gorgeous spot, the beach is not crowded with tourists at all. It is a good idea to have water sandals/shoes because the ocean bottom is not totally sandy. We walked to the lagoon and also to the turtle preserve to snorkel, though saw others in the water to snorkel right in front of Luna Azul. This would be a great spot for a family reunion, renting multiple units and enjoying the area together by preparing some meals in the condos and going out for other meals. (We stopped to grocery shop when driving from the airport to Akumal.)
Regarding shopping, Akumal is pricey. Also, it is somewhat Americanized. However, it is not the touristy partying crowd of Cancun. If you want to experience the Mayan culture and sites (ruins, ceynotes, etc.) this can easily be done through day trips from this location.

“Thanks” to the coronavirus pandemic we decided to stay away from NYC for a number of weeks. Almost accidentally we ended up renting the wonderful unit 6 at Luna Azul on Half Moon Bay, making what was probably one of the best decisions in our lives. Wonderful apartment, wonderful staff, all in a low key safe paradise!

Great location, friendly management, but place needs new upgrading. Door knob lock needs replacement, no coffee carafe, no tea kettle or small saucepan, no hanging bar in second bedroom, etc.

Well located on half moon bay, this comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated condo was a delight to stay at

Adrian, the property manager was very helpful with any questions or minor issues we had

We had a wonderful trip and were VERY please with Luna Azul. We will definitely come back and would highly recommend it to friends and family

Luna Azul #6 This unit was beautifully decorated. We also enjoyed the assortment of books available for reading. The location and facilities were all excellent!

We had a great time in Akumal. The condo was comfortable and a good location. The staff didn't speak much English and wasn't as helpful as I had though they would be. But we had a nice relaxing time. Luna Azul is right on the beach. Great view. Not super luxurious but clean and comfortable. The oven didn't work but other than that the kitchen was adequate.

I have stayed many times in Akumal and Luna Azul #6 is one of the nicest, roomiest condos on the beach. On a quiet morning you can actually see the turtles swim in Half Moon Bay from your balcony.

There were 3 of us that stayed at Luna Azul #6 in January. Two of us had been to Akumal several years ago and one was new to the area. We had a wonderful stay!! The condo was perfect, loved hearing the ocean from our balcony. Place was very well decorated and equiped. Would love to return.

My family stayed at the Luna Azul #6 for a week in Feb/March and had a wonderful time. The condo was beautifully decorated, even nicer than the pictures on the website. We loaded up on groceries on our way, and had a fun and relaxing time, suntanning, snorkeling out front of our condo, (even better than the lagoon) and checking out some of the nearby attractions. We visited Tulum, Achtun Chen, Coba, and found we had a lot more fun and freedom than our trip the year before to an all inclusive in the same area. We even met the lovely woman who owned the condo as we were departing, and told her how much we enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful and meticulous, and we felt very well looked after. I would highly recommend this vacation property, we loved it so much we have already planned next year's stay!

Luna Azul is lovely. Perfect location.
Arrived to unit lacking promised DVD player. Management explained that it might be replaced someday. No toilet seat in bathroom (Sure some toilets in Mexico lack seats but this was clearly a case of the seat having broken. Again nothing done to fix.
Broken cabinet door in kitchen. Minimal kitchen equipment. Some broken. Ceiling fans were so loud and wobbly that we did not use them. Missing light bulbs in reading lamps.

Really great unit would have been perfect if maintenance had done the job. One closet full of grout and other repair items. Perhaps they should have done the maintenance before renting unit.

And, renters should be aware that there is no lock box and door locks are simply inadequate for any real security. We propped a chair into room door to secure on windy night. We had no problems but were very uncomfortable with no locking doors and no safe place for valuables.
