Absolutely fantastic location! Right in the middle of half moon bay. The condo came complete with everything we needed. This unit has a great view of both north and south unlike some of the other units in the building that are set back. The sea grass became heavier through the week resulting in a short walk up the bay to enter the water but top notch reef snorkeling. Tons of restaurants and activities in the area that are walkable. Our hosts were always responsive and helpful. Security and house keeping were fantastic! Would definitely return to this gem!

What a beautiful condo-so neat and clean! The balcony was one of our favorite parts. A great area to watch the sunrise, take pictures, eat breakfast & relax on the lounge chairs. Bring a snorkel and fins/water shoes because the sea life we encountered was absolutely stunning! We will definitely be back :)

I loved this place! Huge bathrooms and stocker with amenities. I still cannot get over the view. I fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore every night—magical! My kids loved the pool and we were just a short walk from Buen vida and La Lunita. The only down side was it was pretty rocky in front of the condos and the condos was a tad smaller than I expected. Having said that, the staff and amenities more than made up for it.

We will definitely be back! We had a fantastic time relaxing and snorkeling right in front of the condo. The beach is beautiful. Pictures don't do it justice. The property manager is amazing... he was able to organize a fishing boat and day tour of the ruins/ cenotes for us that fit exactly what we were looking for. It was easy to get around, we walked and rented bikes. There are a few great restaurants within walking distance but the kitchen is well stocked so it was nice to be able to cook in the condo. We are looking forward to our next trip!!

We had an amazing time. I’m the type that doesn’t enjoy being surrounded by a million people on vacation. It really felt like we had the whole Bay to ourselves. Everyday we went on an adventure and explored a new town or a beautiful Cenote. I loved sitting on the deck and watching the waves. Only thing that Could have been better was the seaweed, which is a natural phenomenon. Even that wasn’t too bad if you wanted to get in the water you just had to walk down the beach a bit. Great stay great host.

We had a wonderful time at Annie's. The location of the condo couldn't have been more perfect - an easy walk to 'town' but even easier to both La Lunita and La Buena Vida restaurants. Half Moon Bay was affected by sargassum but that's Mother Nature and there was always a clear path somewhere along the way to get in the water and swim. And workers were constantly cleaning up the beach. The staff at Playa Caribe are top notch. Agustin even set up for us to have in-room massages on the last night of our stay! We look forward to our next trip to Annie's!!

This was my husband and my first time NOT staying in an all inclusive. Our best friends who shared Annie’s condo with us had never done either or even been to Mexico. It was also my first time doing a VRBO. From the second I booked it i received my first email from Annie. Every possible question I had was already answered in this first email which completely set me at ease. Now the condo itself. No other word other than perfect. PERFECT. Four adults in our 50’s, we spent most of our time on the deck, snorkeling in halfmoon bay or swimming in the pool. Tulum was stupid busy.....back to the condo. Yal Ku Lagoon was stupid busy.....back to the condo. It literally had EVERYTHING you needed. And a perfect location. Thank you Annie for an incredible holiday

Loved the traditional style of the place. Of course, the view is fantastic and you not only have a view forward on the patio but the sides are open also for additional view. Spent alot of time on that patio! As noted on the listing, the WiFi was perfect and the air conditioning was perfect and comfortable. Hot water was endless. Kitchen was fully stocked. Akumal is more of a low key area versus Playa de Carmen and Cancun. Went down to Tulum one day and that is getting so busy, I was so glad to get back to Akumal and Annie's place that day to relax again. Great place! Thank you Annie.

I really can’t say enough good things about Annie’s condominium! It is in a beautiful location right on the ocean and every night we fell asleeep and woke up to the soothing and relaxing sound of the waves from Half Moon Bay. Inside the condominium is a delightful feast of cheerful color and design....immaculate and comfortable. The staff who work at the complex are friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed staying at Annie's. We were there this last January with our 2 small children (3 and 6). Maybe less crowded due to mild winter in US and State Dept warning. However, we never saw a "questionable person" and as extensive world travelers, we feel we are always aware. The condo was one of the best appointed I've stayed in Mexico. There is some construction 2 buildings away, but they were very quiet and really not noticeable. The staff we friendly and capable.
The small convenience store across the street was nice (bread, beer and peanut butter kinda place). Chomak grocery in town is expensive. I highly recommend going with CARM transfer and having them stop in Playa for your groceries (165$ round trip!). Also, don't feel weird about buying milk that is non refrigerated here, it's really ok! (of course put it in the fridge after opening)
There is a golf cart rental right as you come into Akumal under the arch, and the benefit of using them is you get to park in their lot. That is a big bonus as parking can be hard when in town (Annie can tell you the name). But with older kids, I would just rent bikes.
The beach is not very busy which is a plus for us, much different than Akumal beach in town. The town beach has areas roped off in the water for sea turtle snorkeling run by companies (blah) and full of people. The wind is much less here than Tulum (wind is tiresome for little ones) but the beach in Tulum is hard to beat. I would definitely come back here and to Half Moon Bay: Quiet, friendly and oh so easy...)

Playa Caribe #5 is one of the best holiday excursions I’ve ever taken! Annie and John really go the extra mile to make sure guests feel welcome and comfortable during their stay. All of the additional information Annie has compiled in their notebook here at the property as well as online was really informative and helpful in motivating our family to experience some different things during our trip as well. Turtles were out of season, but the snorkeling was amazing, the food was fantastic, the locals are wonderful and we really couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during our trip! Thank you again!!! And we look forward to visiting in the future!

We loved our stay at #5. The condo with views of the bay from every room is exactly as it was pictured, and the daily housekeeping was really nice. We got to watch sea turtles come up the beach at night and nest which was amazing. Annie was great to communicate with us. The road getting there is pretty rough but well worth it. We would stay here again and would recommend renting from Annie. She's fantastic.

This was our first time at Playa Caribe but have been to Akumal over 10 times. We decided to try PC for the pool, which isn't very common on Half Moon Bay. We were very pleased to have the pool as the ocean was lapping right up to the property. The unit itself far exceeded our expectations. Unit 5 provided two oceanfront bedrooms, a more than adequate living and kitchen space and excellent service by the staff on hand. We spent evenings on our lovely deck, listening to the ocean and enjoying the stars. Special notes: Housekeeping service was superb! Linens were lovely. Beds divine. Showers large although, as is typical in Akumal, hot water was spotty. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Very safe, welcoming and property overall in beautiful and clean condition. Eager to get back!

This a wonderful unit--clean, breezy, and set up nicely for two couples or a family. Really, the condo (and the sunny weather) were the highlights of our trip. For some reason the hot water was not working in the showers and was not fixed however.

This is a lovely condo right on the water with end to end views of Half Moon Bay from the living room and especially from the balcony. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious and decorated with lovely Mexican tile. The website photos are an accurate representation. The condo complex is lovely and well maintained. Lounge chairs and thatched shady cabanas are provided on the beach. The staff is friendly and there is a security guard at night (although Half Moon Bay is a gated community and feels very safe anyway). Things to know: the master bedroom is not fully separated from the living room. There is an arched open space between the two rooms that has a short wall and a wicker screen but the top of the archway is open between the two rooms. Bottled drinking water is provided. Internet wifi is sketchy/poor. The village area by the arch is quite a long walk away (at least 20 minutes) although there are a couple of good restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The beach is white sand but the ocean bottom is very rocky. It is impossible to walk into the water without water shoes. We encountered the seaweed problem. Portions of the bay were murky and seaweed was floating In the water out to about 20 yards. Further down the beach there were portions that were clearer. Seaweed had floated ashore and there was a 2 foot berm/strip of it along the entire length of Half Moon Bay. We got used to this but it prevented the beach from seeming pristine.

This condo is so beautifully decorated, well appointed and we felt very secure. It had everything we needed. Plus the views from all rooms were amazing and the King bed was super comfortable. The staff was very helpful, and even came late in the evening when the wind blew a bedroom door shut and locked us out. The extra snorkel fins they had by the pool came in handy too. It is a very handy location as well. We loved walking to the village for dinner on occasion, especially recommend the Turtle Cafe and Bakery. Don’t miss walking to the nearby Cenote for snorkeling too. I hope we can return to this lovely condo.

Playa Caribe #5 is enchanting with its colorful interior, wonderful wall decor, and stunning view. We had major issues with internet (never resolved) and tv (never resolved) which caused real challenges with this family trip. Speaking of family, this is not a great unit for all parties. Both bedrooms have charming interior windows that have lovely, but limiting, shutters made from bamboo (or a similar reed plant) and the bamboo sticks have space in between those, which allow all sound to pass and allow some vision between rooms. The same materials and style are present in the interior windows that separate each room's en suite bath and the door for such. Altogether, this means that one of the two bedrooms is not fully isolated from the primary room, there is limited privacy and sound insulation between both rooms and their respective bathrooms, and there would be major safety challenges for a family with young children who inevitably would be drawn to climb through the interior windows.

We were fortunate to stay in Playa Caribe #5 for two full weeks. Nothing can compete with waking every morning and seeing the beautiful blue water. Seriously we were literally within 20ft from the water. The pool was great for laying in the sun or going for a swim. Snorkeling was amazing right out the front door. If you are interested in seeing Tulum or Playa please plan on renting a car. Otherwise everything you need is within walking distance. This is a fantastic property! You won’t regret it for sure.

This unit, building and location exceeded all of our expectations. I want to address the seaweed concerns as we came in mid-May and were well warned about the potential for seagrass to impede our use of the beach. We almost went somewhere else!
There was enough seaweed right at our beach at this unit that it wouldn't have been pleasant to swim from there or use the chairs. But this did not negatively effect our vacation at all. We walked 5 properties up for lunch at La Lunita and swam there and it was seaweed free and clear. You can swim from anywhere, the shoreline is public. We also walked to the lagoon and it was great swimming and snorkeling and seaweed free. We could also walk to Akumal Bay and zero seaweed there and great beach access. The on-site pool is also a great alternative. Don't let it ruin your vacation! This unit on the second floor offers beautiful turquoise water views and you don't even see the seaweed. We looked at booking the "seaweed free" complex but you can't use the beach there 's rock. The tile in the unit was so cute and charming, the sunken tubs are special. Kitchen well appointed. Plenty of extras to borrow or rent on site. Akumal was safe, beautiful and friendly. I will never stay at one of those all inclusives again!

Two master suites so beautifully decorated and upgraded!
We arrived in the evening so it was a shocking surprise to see the upclose ocean views in the morning! I just wish I could keep it a big secret so that I can know I’m able to get a new reservation with ease! Lol

The condo was well furnished with charming decor and a well equipped kitchen, AND a lovely view. The staff was helpful, the location directly on the beach and close to 2 wonderful restaurants (La Buena Vida and La Lunita) was perfect!! We enjoyed our stay here very much.

We ended up staying in #4 instead of #5 due to a air conditioner problem.
Everything better than expected.
The property manager, Augustine, was very helpful. he even scheduled our Covid test

The Playa Caribe is a venue we have used many times. It has the greatest view in Half Moon Bay and is wonderfully munged. The condo was kept immaculately clean and the staff were very helpful. Akumal Direct made the reservation process easy. I left a toiletries kit at the condo when I checked out. Akumal Direct connected witt Playa Caribe who found the kit. Akumal Direct then made arrangements to get it back to me 5000 miles away. I call that outstanding service. The contentment we achieved in Akumal was not disrupted by my forgetfulness.

Condo seemed smaller then pictures shown, but also just as shown?? We had a few problems; leak under the sink, leak in master bath toilet, also really tiresome, the refrigerator door plastic pieces that held things on the door kept coming off resulting in messy broken items and cassette player that wouldn’t work. The management was a great help with the sink. The furniture was adequate but not really comfortable accept for the beds. Again the location was lovely as was the building, pool and many loungers provided by the beach.

Needed reprieve from the cold winter of N. California.

The visit was our 2nd in 3 years. We very much enjoyed this visit. The staff was very accommodating and the area is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Cancun. Nearby restaurants provided excellent selection and cuisine. We would definitely recommend this location and Akumal Direct Reservations.

We stayed 8 days in this condo and we couldn't dream of a better place. Sunrise from the balcony is breathtaking, the view is absolutely stunning. You can see the water not only from balcony but from the living room and bedrooms. The rooms were clean and Patricia, the cleaning lady, was amazing. I love that rooms were being clead daily as we cooked inside as well. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything and more than we need. The only issue we have was the slow internet connection as all 3vof us needed fast connection to work and study.
Beach in front of the condo is narrow and sometimes seaweeds are pilled up in the morning, but staff cleans them daily. To enter a water you will need water shoes as it is rocky. Just swim a bit away from the beach and you will find beatiful fish and corals. We were snorkeling every day. Right next to the building there is a small grocery store, very helpfu. 10 minutes walk there is very nice restaurant right on the beach La Buena Vida. We loved it. We also enjoy live music at Taverna restaurant in Akumal(20 minutes walk) where talented saxophonist was playing every Saturday evening at 7pm. The food is delicious, too. Akumal Bay is 20 minutes walk where we bought a ticket to snorkel and spent a day on the beach. We saw turtles, ray, colorful fish, and squid.
This was the best trip we ever had. Will stay at the same condo next time for sure.
