Description

Open the door to Playa Caribe #6 condo and the view of the sparkling turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean will take your breath away! You will walk into a deluxe oceanfront condo on the 2nd floor overlooking our swimming pool that is exclusively for Playa Caribe guests. You are only steps from our white sand beach on Half Moon Bay that is filled with lounge chairs and palapas for you to use. And then you walk into the warm waters of Half Moon Bay and are soon snorkeling with turtles, rays, parrot fish---an unforgettable experience.

There are many condo buildings in Akumal but only Playa Caribe has it's own reverse osmosis water system--we purify our water so that you can drink water right from the tap! If you are looking for a deluxe condo to spend your vacation you will not be disappointed with Playa Caribe #6. Amenities includes daily maid service, 24 hr. security, private parking, reception manager, full time maintenance men, purified water and much more.

As art lovers the owners have filled the condo with art purchased from local artists and Mexican folk art. The white walls of this spacious condo provide the perfect backdrop for the bright, lively collection.

- There are 2 oversized bedrooms (1 king bed in master bdrm. and 2 dbl. beds in 2nd bedroom) with handwoven Oaxacan spreads on all beds.
- There are 2 full baths with hand-painted sinks, high quality lines, tiled baths in each. The kitchen is fully equipped. The living room and dining area chairs/couches are covered in bright, tropical fabrics.
- Our oceanfront patio is fully furnished and we also have 2 back patios looking out to the jungle with a bbq on one patio and small table/chairs on the 2nd patio.

In our living room area we have a TV, CD player, DVD player, books, games, cards. We have beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards in our closet for guests to use. Hairdryers are in each bath and an iron, ironing board, safe are all in the closet for our guests.

Playa Caribe staff & their services: When you are a guest at Playa Caribe you will have daily maid service, private parking, 24 hour security, maintenance men on site and the services of our front desk manager, Agustin. He can make any reservations you need from renting a golf cart or car, arranging transportation, reserving tee times, dinner reservations, excursions including the Sian Kaan Biosphere trip, reconfirming your flights---Agustin is there to help you with any request you may have.

Why we love Akumal!:

When we 'found' Akumal 14 years ago we fell in love with this charming village and Playa Caribe. We knew that this was where we wanted to own our vacation home. We have not been sorry we made this decision and continue to love the time we spend there. Akumal is in the heart of Riviera Maya, the home of the Mayan people, and they are gentle, loving, honest people and we are proud to call so many our friends. Akumal is home to many wonderful people and is filled with restaurants, boutiques, grocery stores, medical services so that you will really have all you need for a great vacation.

KINDLY NOTE: South winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Rivera Maya. While the situation is hard to predict for each specific week and area, we would like you to be aware as there is the potential to impact the beach and water entry.

The Riviera Maya is full of natural beauty, places to explore and opportunities for outdoor activities. We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. Playa Caribe has a wonderful staff and a great location. You can walk to town or two restaurants nearby. The condo was extremely clean and the staff accommodate requests swiftly and with great service. The pool is not heated but our kids and the others visiting did not seem to care. My only complaint is the entrance into the ocean is terribly rocky and getting into the water is really challenging without water shoes and even then I would say it is somewhat treacherous. The beach itself is beautiful but the seaweed has taken over, so not ideal if you love a quick dip in the ocean while soaking up your ocean time. I snorkeled but did not see any fish, my understanding is you have to go far out into the reef to see anything and most recommended using a boat. The condo itself is great and the people there wonderful. If you want a smooth beach I would recommend staying near Maroma or Playa del Carmen.

The property offered welcome shelter from the wind as it is set back. This however restricted the views along the coastline but never-the-less good views to open sea. The accommodation had a great flow and was immaculately clean. A great stay!

We had the most amazing time at this condo! Myrna and the property manager Pablo made sure that we had everything that we needed. We had a toddler with us and we were provided a crib, high chair and netting on the balcony for extra security. The location of the condo is outstanding - right on the beach so that you could fell asleep and wake up to the sound of ocean. Also, though the Half Moon bay beach has some stones (so make sure you have the water shoes with you), it actually makes it a very excellent place for snorkeling. We would spend every morning snorkeling before lunch and it was a highlight of our trip. So make sure you bring your snorkeling gear with you!

We stayed at Myrna's condo for one week and loved it. Perfect location for a quiet, relaxing vacation, and the place is larger than the photos portray. Loved the opportunity to snorkel anytime we wanted (the beach is rocky so bring water shoes). Pool and purified water is a nice touch. Akumal beach is crowded with all inclusive resorts/tourists; half moon bay is quiet, relaxing, chill. Loved it and plan to return ASAP

My husband and I loved this property. Just darling, lots of space, a full kitchen (not used by me)!! and lovely Mexican artwork. Akumal is a great small quiet town where you do not need a car to get around. Bikes, walking and golf cart rental seem to work best. No large Hotels, just a small quiet community with lovely restaurants and a nice place to relax. We had beautiful weather, lovely calm ocean for snorkeling right out our door and delightful restaurants within minutes of beach walking from the condo. Would highly recommend and we shall be back!

The owner of this unit has done everything possible to make your vacation comfortable and enjoyable. The unit is equipped with everything advertised and more. The photos are recent and the unit is kept impeccably clean by the housekeeping staff. We got exactly what was advertised. The unit is at one of the best entry points on HMB in terms of sand and rocks (Bring water shoes), and the staff rakes the beach daily. The water is 100% drinkable due to the filtration system they use. Furniture is in excellent condition, and the beds were comfortable. each room features its own balcony in addition to the large balcony off the living room. The 2nd floor is high enough off the street to not be bothered by noise, high enough to enjoy a view of the beautiful bay, but not so high that you spend too much energy going up and down the stairs :). The AC works (too well< I wanted to turn it off and just sleep with the windows open). Plenty of hot water, though operating the shower was a bit beyond my abilities and usually I ended up turning dials until something good happened. The unit has beautiful local artwork. Fantastic value for price paid. The fridge was showing signs of age on the outside but worked great on the inside and they keep so many filled ice cube trays in the freezer you'd need to invite 30 friends over for margaritas before you'd run out.

We stayed at Playa Caribe #6 from October 16-22, 2019. When looking for our trip, we were waffling between a few of the condos available at Playa Caribe (e.g., do we want to be a floor higher, a balcony that is just a titch closer to the ocean, etc.). We were really attracted to the layout of #6, the art as well as the white backdrop and all of the traditional, colourful Mexican decor. It was, exactly as described and absolutely lovely. Myrna Sparks, the owner was very helpful. She made sure that we knew where everything was in the condo, provided us with an information package on where to eat and things to do in and around Akumal. My husband had several conversations prior to our vacation, which was really appreciated. Myrna asked Augustin the property manager to have Israel pick us up at the airport and we knew before we left where we could stop on the way to Akumal to buy groceries for the week - we stopped at the Solinaro (sp) in Playa del Carmen. It is a huge grocery store that had everything and more that we could possibly want. We were well stocked. Just after we settled in Patricia came bustling in with her arms full of goodies for us, which we enjoyed throughout the week - also very appreciated. Patricia came every day to clean our condo and was a fantastic resource for us. Augustin also arranged bicycles for us to rent for the week and helped us whenever we wanted to go somewhere. Everyone was always very cheery. We spent a lot of time at the pool, the beach and also in the water. We snorkeled and visited the magnificent sea turtles. One morning, 4 condos down, the gardener called two of the certified turtle rescuers who live in a condo on Half Moon Bay to come and rescue baby green sea turtles that were hatching, but being attacked and eaten by racoons and signets. They rescued 23 baby sea turtles that they returned to the ocean later in the evening. Seeing that was so exciting. We had a wonderful relaxing holiday and loved staying at Play Caribe #6 - thanks to Myrna Sparks, Augustin, Patricia and Israel!

This condo is inviting, bright, cheery and immaculate. The view of the ocean is wonderful. The balcony is a good size with nice outdoor furniture. Bed was very comfy with soft, upscale sheets. Great water pressure and always had hot water to shower. It was nice to be able to drink the water in the condo and not have to hassle with bottled water. Pool and deck area were kept sparkling clean. It is a short walk to restaurants and several small convenience stores with basic supplies. There was quite a bit of sargassum during our visit, but the owners did a good job spraying the sargassum several times a day to alleviate the bad smell. The owner, Myrna, was very helpful and great to work with. She was able to accommodate our early arrival check in and late departure which made things much easier for us. I highly recommend this condo.

We had a wonderful stay at the Playa Caribe and fell in love with the little town of Akumal Before arriving we were provided a detailed list of what to expect and a great list of attractions and restaurants to visit during our stay from Myrna. It was helpful and took away the guess work. We arrived to beautifully decorated condo with an amazing view of the ocean. The condo provided everything we needed during our stay. The front office helped us with any transportation we needed but had to wait a little while for a response. There was plenty of room for the four of us I would highly recommend this condo and can't wait to go back! The Fenster's Montana

Everything was thumbs up but for the occasionally music from next door that wafted to our serene porch experience and children and other talkative guests by the pool sometimes louder than we’d like. But we would happily go back. Host Myrna couldn’t have been more helpful- most helpful and attentive as we prepared to go . Akumal’s half moon bay is a gem of perfect read walk snorkel eat at Buena vida two mi utes down the beach or La Lunita for a little fancier. The Cenote five minute walk away is dreamy.

We had a wonderful time at Playa Caribe, Condo #6. Everything was exactly as described and the condo was very well appointed. Augustin was very helpful and Patricia was wonderful. It was so nice and quiet. My husband said it was his most relaxing vacation in years. Our teenager loved having his own space, a beach out front, and consistent and reliable wifi. We look forward to returning.

We loved Playa caribe. Lots of space, well equipped kitchen, clean, great view. Locogringo was fantastic and addressed a couple minor maintenance issues immediately. Their concierge was also super helpful. Kids loved the small pool. Only complaint was that the seaweed came in early (March) so the beach wasn’t usable, but that is beyond anyone’s control. We would go back in a heartbeat.

I would have stayed in this unit for the rest of my life, haha! To be able to watch the sunrise from your bed is something I will never forget. Everything about the apartment was just perfect - stylish, clean, well equipped. It was simply perfect. I can't wait to return!

Playa Caribe #6 has gorgeous, unending views of sea, sky, and pool. You could watch sunrises and sunsets from your balcony. The balcony is large and equipped with a table and four chairs plus a comfy rocker.

The unit is decorated with the most wonderful, Mexican folk art that I have ever seen, and I’ve visited this area seven times. The furniture was clean, comfortable, and in very good shape. There was some real thoughtful decorating going on here from the art, to the bedspreads, to the pillows. A very welcoming unit.

The grounds and pool were kept up nicely. Some days there were quite a few people at the pool and other days we had it to ourselves. Never a problem. We also had a few days of sargassum, but we still had days we were still able to swim in the ocean and walk on the beach. The beach is not wide and it is very rocky when entering the ocean.

Housekeeping is excellent and friendly. Office staff is often not available, but if you are patient, you will find someone eventually that can help you. Our power and water went out a few times due to nearby construction, but was restored within a reasonable amount of time.

The location was excellent. We were able to walk easily to Yal Ku lagoon, several local shops, restaurants and into town. There’s also a nice parking lot if you rent a car.

Price for value is excellent. Highly recommended.

The condo is beautifully decorated with local art. It is spacious and has a view of the ocean to die for. The pool is small but has a nice deep end. We had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Playa Caribe. The condo was perfect for our family. If was spacious, very clean and well decorated. There were lots of extra touches like a fresh pineapple and bananas when we arrived, games in the cabinet and beach chairs. The kitchen had everything we needed. We snorkeled in the bay right outside the condo and saw beautiful fish. I would definitely recommend to others.

What a wonderful stay! All our interactions were wonderful and everyone was so accomodating. We traveled with a large group and David with Akumal Direct was a wonderful help with arranging transportation for all our group even though some were staying at other condos. The team at Playa Caribe from the office, security, housekeeping and clean up crew were all excellent. We really enjoyed the fresh fruit that got brought to us daily. Our one complaint on this trip would be the rocks and seaweed at the beach. This is obviously uncontrollable by Playa Caribe and we knew this was going to be a thing which makes it excellent to have a pool. Bring water shoes if you plan to go in the ocean. The views and cleanliness of this location can not be beat.

The property description was accurate regarding the location, layout, and amenities, and was clean and well-maintained. The on-site management provided very good customer service and cleaning. I would recommend the property to a friend. On-site we enjoyed the well-maintained beach and pool areas, and snorkeling from the beach. The concierge service was very responsive and helpful in arranging transportation and reservations when needed. The La Buena Vida restaurant is within walking distance and has excellent water views, food and drinks.

From the moment we walked in the door to the sounds of the ocean and the warm breeze, we knew this place was the best choice! This condo is gorgeously decorated, super clean, and right in the middle of this sweet bay! The ocean is steps away :) Everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The staff are incredible people whose work is the magic behind it all - thank you for your generosity of spirit and care for this beautiful place :)
