ABOUT THE HOME

There is something wonderfully simple about staying right on Half Moon Bay. Wake up, step onto your terrace with a cup of coffee, look across the Caribbean, and decide whether the morning calls for a swim, a snorkel, or a little more time enjoying the view.

La Bahia 5 gives you exactly that kind of Akumal vacation.

Located on the third floor of the La Bahia condominium building, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo combines an outstanding beachfront location with the practical comforts of a home away from home. It accommodates up to four guests and is especially well suited to two couples, friends traveling together, or a small family.

The main living and dining area faces Half Moon Bay, bringing the Caribbean view into the heart of the condo. Glass doors lead outside to the furnished oceanfront terrace, a favorite spot for morning coffee, afternoon reading, or relaxing after a day in the water.

The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to enjoy meals at home and includes a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cookware, utensils, purified drinking water, and purified ice.

The primary bedroom is furnished with a king bed and has its own en suite bathroom. The second bedroom also has a private en suite bathroom and can be configured as either one king bed or two single beds, giving families and groups more flexibility.

We were looking for a smart condo centrally located in Riviera Maya where we could enjoy diving and visit all the nearby attractions. The beach, snorkeling and restaurants on Half Moon Bay were so great we only left to go diving on Akumal Bay. We'll definitely be coming back soon and hopefully, make it to Tulum.

The owners were great at communicating prior to our stay. The place was darling, clean and really well equipped. The location is perfect. It is in the middle of beautiful half moon bay with a snorkeling park around the corner. The whole area has been struggling with the sargasso grass. There was a lot of it in the beach, but there were many people working on removing it. We still were able to access the bay and we had plenty of things to do when we were there. Akumal is one of the loveliest places I have ever experienced

Very nice location with great views and very clean and well maintained condo. There were several good restaurants close by and Akumal beach was in easy walking distance. Half moon bay was excellent for snorkeling. Overall a great trip for us.
The only real issue was the sargassum seaweed on the beach property. Also the maintenance people did not attempt to remove it rather they we're spraying it with some substance.
Manager response on 2023-06-08 - Response from Akumal Direct Reservations
Hi Jame, Thank you for your review and recommendation for La Bahia. Unfortunately during high sargassum season it futile to attempt manual removal but the spray is a biodegradable solution to keep the sulfuric scent under control. Please, let us know when you're ready to visit Akumal again and we'll gladly help you plan another great vacation.

We really enjoyed our condo! It was right on the beach as described. Only problem was the sea grass. Nobody’s fault, but we couldn’t get in the water. The guys worked tirelessly everyday trying to remove it.
The guys in the office were super helpful...especially Adrian. He was so helpful and a wealth of knowledge.
The restaurants on both sides (very close) we’re amazing! We visited both frequently.
We were able to relax and just have a chill vacation.

We had a great time renting La Bahia #5. It was clean, pretty well stocked and most of all had the perfect views! We could hear the waves from our place all night. Also, the front desk folks helped us with everything we needed. This is a very laid back place where you can just come and not be distracted by crowds of tourists rushing to get to their next excursion. We rented bikes for the week. When we had a health emergency, the staff was right there to do whatever they needed to get the help right away. Also loved the maid service every other day. We will be back. Only issue was this is on the third floor. Great for the view, hard on the knees if you have issues.
