The condo was everything advertised and more. Decorated tastefully and in the spirit of the Yucatan. Cleaned daily, a little problem with the sliding door fixed without us asking, the maid must have noticed it. Helpful front desk folks. They even raked the sand every morning. Now, the beach is sandy but getting into the water is a challenge as the bottom is rocky. But well worth it. Can walk to the end of the beach and swim to a coral reef with great snorkeling. But don't miss the lagoon on one end of the beach, and swimming with the turtles in akimal bay. And go to a Cenote. We will be back!

We stayed at #2. Right on the beach!
Turtle egg nests outside the door, hermit crabs marching on the sand past the porch as we laid on the great hammock, and watching beautiful half-moon bay and the palm trees swaying in the wind. In late afternoon and evening, you could see lightning storms out in the ocean. Just a really cool place to get away. 
The place is low key, well maintained with plenty of drinking water, great building upkeep and a super nice cleaning lady coming everyday, Silvia. We would see her ride her bike to work. La Buena Vida is as busy a place you'll find (always room at the bar on a swing) with great music, awesome service and a great bar. The food is good, but we liked the food at the casual palapa in Akumal bay better. Especially the tacos de cochinita pibil, a must in the Yucatan. 
Akumal dive shop is great. Alvaro and company, especially Saul in our case, were fantastic. 
Too many nearby places to name, Xpuha, Tankha (casa cenote), Tulum etc. Just go and stay in Playa Blanca. You can't go wrong. Hasta Pronto Akumal!

We recently returned from a two week vacation. Our time at Playa Blanca was incredible. The location is excellent, the accommodations were perfect. Listening to the ocean from morning till night is my kind of holiday. My husband dives and Akumal Dive adventures is right down the street. We rented bikes from the property managers $5.00 per day. House keeping was excellent really didn't need the full service every day but she insisted. The condo has two distinct areas so perfect for two couples or with kids. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well stocked and it was nice to have a full sized fridge.
The beach has soft sand the ocean is rocky, bring water shoes!

We used Miguel the suggested shuttle driver on the website. His service is excellent!

We would defiantly recommend and will be back!

It was like having your own private beach, palapas and palm trees, right off your patio. It was comfortable, quiet and clean. The beach was spotless, no debree. The kitchen was fully equiped. The bedrooms were roomy. 

Our friends and I are planning on returning to Play Blanca,#2. It was a great find.

Props to Akumal Direct Reservations! This is a great company to book thru. Very communicative, helpful with answering questions and arranging for grocery delivery along with transportation! If we go back I would definitely book thru Akumal Direct again! Our location was right on the beach, walk out patio into the sand with the ocean 100’ away! Able to hear the waves all night! Quiet, peaceful and the manager/staff were all so friendly and helpful! Well done Akumal Direct!

The stay and location was great for our group (2 couples) The staff were very helpful and the condo was very clean, well stocked with all supplies (the only thing we had to buy was groceries, they supplied water for us!) and comfortable. We loved being on the water and literally 20 steps away from the water! Thank you!

Management visited every day to see if they could do anything for us. Could not ask for a nicer place and have visited Akumal every year for the past 12 years. Recommend to anyone, family, single persons, couples. Quiet and restful.

This was a very comfortable clean condo 30 ft. from the ocean. Fifteen min. walk to Akumal and there is a little grocery store a minute walk away. We loved the decor inside the condo and it offers free wi-fi. Great ocean view with a hammock on the lani. We had some problems with the toilets but they were fixed in a very timely matter. Maid service was very good. A short walk north on the beach there is less wave action and the water is crystal clear with good snorkeling out toward the waves. The owner has a binder with useful information. There are books, cd's, and movies. I would stay here again.

The only problem was that the local manager wasn't told we were going to be there, so we were lucky the condo was set up for guests and clean, etc. He wasn't very happy about our arrival, but then it worked out fine. I DID communicate this to Akumal Direct and they apologized...but you're asking for info, so aside from that, the location was nice and the place was comfortable. We would have preferred a place where we could have walked outside to the ocean and swam because we drove to the Akumal beach. That was lovely, so the drive was worth it. Actually, we just recommended it to some friends who were there this month.

We have been coming to Akumal for seven years now, but this was the first time at the Playa Blanca. It was a great place to stay......perfect location (almost center in Half Moon Bay) and very clean. I also liked that we were able to use the pool at another complex if we wanted.

We were guests in Akumal in March of 2008. The Playa Blanca location was excellent and the property was very well kept. We couldn't have been more happy. There is plenty to do in and around Akumal. Never a dull moment, unless you wanted it to be! We had a little problem with red ants in the kitchen area but I understand that's pretty normal. We also saw a few "roach-like bugs" in the back bedroom, but other than that the property was excellent! I would recommend a stay at Playa Blanca to anyone. Enjoy and relax!

We really enjoyed ourselves in Akumal. I think it was a little misleading as far as the shoppoing and food goes. The 'Grocery' stores are more like little rooms with a few staples. The restaurants were quite expensive and they were not very close to walk to especially with small children. Playa Blanca was a very nice place to rent out. The staff there were very nice and the place was very CLEAN. Overall we had a great time but It is wise to rent a car so you can get around a lot easier. I would recommend this plkace.
