Casa Alux blends Caribbean charm with breezy comfort. This 3-bedroom, 3-bath villa in Akumal Norte features a private ocean-facing infinity pool, unique palapa-style design, and marble breezeway—perfect for relaxing with views and sea breezes. Featuring panoramic ocean views, an infinity pool, daily service, and easy access to Akumal Bay, this home is ideal for families and groups of up to six.

Inside the Residence

The villa consists of two round, thatched-roof structures joined by a luxurious Ticul marble patio. The main villa includes a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, plus a a bedroom with ensuite bath. The second villa features a king bedroom with ensuite bath and a third bedroom with two twin beds and a trundle bed, also with private bath. Large windows fill the interiors with Caribbean light, and the layout encourages rest and social connection. AC is available in the king and twin bedrooms only; the queen bedroom and shared spaces stay naturally cool with ceiling fans and ocean breezes.

Casa Alux’s architecture sets it apart. Two thatched-roof round structures are joined by a stone patio, designed for both community and privacy. The main house includes a living area with wide ocean-facing windows, a kitchen with raised counter and bar seating, and a dining space perfect for gatherings. The bedroom in the main building has a gorgeous view of the ocean with a queen bed, full bath, and a privacy partition between the living areas, but it does not close off for complete privacy.  

The second house offers a lounge with TV and movies, a king suite with private bath, and the second room has two twins with its own bathroom. Each bedroom is cooled by individual air conditioning, with additional AC in living spaces.

The design draws the outdoors in: circular walls and panoramic windows frame gardens and ocean views, while the breezeway invites constant sea breezes. Warm textures and Ticul marble finishes add elegance. This is a home where relaxation comes naturally, whether you’re sharing meals, enjoying the pool, or stargazing on the patio.

Access & Amenities

Your stay includes daily housekeeping (6 days/week), linens, beach towels, WiFi, and purified water. A cook and laundry service are available for an extra fee. Guests have access to the private infinity pool, full kitchen, movie collection, extensive library, and ample outdoor space for hammocks and stargazing.

About the Surroundings

Located on the ironshore in North Akumal’s gated community, Casa Alux is a 5-minute walk from Akumal Bay and Half Moon Bay restaurants, shops, and beaches. Bikes and golf carts are available locally, but for exploring further, a rental car or driver is recommended. Public transport is available from the highway about ¾ mile away.

My family of 5, two adults & three kids just finished a 10 day vacation at Casa Alux. It was everything we could have asked for & more! Reserving the property was easy! David with Akumal Direct was super helpful in setting up transportation & other arrangements, he answered all my questions promptly. Everything went as planned, the people they hire were friendly & courteous. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the owner of the house, who gave us a run down. The owners live in the house out back & we’re available to answer any questions or give us suggestions but we still had lots of privacy. The property itself was great & provided all the amenities. The view from the property is unparalleled, with all the windows and constant ocean breeze, air conditioning was not needed. On a calm day the snorkeling out front of the property was some of the best. The location was great for exploring the Akumal area & beyond. The property care taker & house cleaner, Candalerio & Candi, were the best. We got to know them well & we’re a pleasure to have around. We felt safe & well cared for the whole time. Akumal is a quant, quiet town, with beautiful beaches & scenery. The house was beautiful & the pool was a plus. My kids swam in it everyday! It’s was a magical vacation we will remember! Thanks!

The layout of this property is great. The breezeway and game table was lovely after a day of pool lounging. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped and the view of the garden and sea spectacular. This is a well tended property with hosts on site and management service quick to answer questions with local knowledge.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Alux. We were three couples and this set up was perfect. The pool is great and the grounds were very well manicured. It is located in an area of many restaurants within walking distance. The houses were very clean and daily maid service was a bonus. We would definitely love to return.

Casa Alux is a truly magical place in Akumal. It is located directly on the water and so close to town. This is the second time we have had the pleasure of staying in this property and we again had an absolutely wonderful experience.
The hosts are fantastic and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The accommodations are comfortable and beautiful. There is interesting, native artwork everywhere you look, a huge library of books to choose from, excellent wifi, a fully stocked kitchen with an ice-maker and blender, both essential for making icy tropical drinks!
The private infinity pool is perfect, and the view of the ocean is panoramic due to the round nature of the houses.
Lush gardens surround the property and there is an abundance of wildlife, including tropical birds, hermit crabs, and even iguanas that will soon eat hibiscus blossoms from your hands if you are patient enough to befriend them.
What more can I say? Probably a lot more, but rest assured, this vacation property is truly a dream come true in Akumal.
