Hugo and his family treated us extremely well. They ensure that we were well take care of with fresh fruit and coffee in the morning. The home was perfect for us, location, size and comfort. We consider ourselves lucky to have found dos palmas and will definitely plan another trip in the near future. Btw, the nights that they cooked us dinner were highlights of our stay. Our time at Casa dos Palmas was lovely. The house was comfortable and functional for the 8 of us, with both private and shared spaces. Location was great as we could walk in either direction to beach, stores and restaurants. The highlight, though, was the food and support from Eunice and Hugo, who had just taken over from Eunice's mother and father, Esther and Rigo. 5 dinners were made for us, and we loved them all. Although they didn't speak English and we didn't speak Spanish, we somehow communicated adequately with Eunice and Hugo; their son, who was there a few days, helped a lot as he is bi-lingual. The only negative issue was the lack of information upon arrival: the book of info at the house appeared out-of-date and incomplete, and there was lack of clarity as to the roles of the property manager and the rental office. All worked out well, and we loved our vacation there.

All pictures are accurate. Great location, walk to everything. We did rent a golf cart for a couple days but found it not necessary. A small bobble on the first night which was taken care of immediately, excellent customer service. Caretakers on site are wonderful and provided great insight on the area. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for making our vacation so wonderful.

Casa Dos Palmas surpassed our expectations! Esther and Rico were perfect hosts, professional and personal, and the 2 dinners they prepared were memorable. They cleaned every day, and Esther cut fresh fruit for us in the mornings. The property was comfortable in every way, convenient to town, Yal Ku Cenote, so everything was convenient and accessible. In a word, our week was perfect!

This felt more like HOME than a vacation rental. Our group of 8 women loved our week there and took full advantage of the cooking services of the loving caretakers, Rigo and Esther. Rooms, beds, and ALL facilities VERY comfortable. Walked to the lagoon for snorkeling on our last day and we're sorry we hadn't tried it sooner...fantastic! We were a bit overwhelmed by the crowds and commercialism of the tourist areas south of Cancun, but Akumal was a peaceful paradise.

We loved staying at Casa Dos Palmas last December. Our home-cooked meal of stuffed peppers, chicken mole and chocolate flan were unmatched. The nearby stores, bars, markets and restaurants were nicely managed, stocked and eager to provide exceptional service. The iguanas were daily guests and we loved watching their habits. The blender was an important amenity! Rooms, kitchen, pool and linens cleaned daily. We loved the entire experience. Can't wait until December 2018.

We were 6 professional women staying at this house for 7 nights to celebrate a 60th birthday. The house is quite nice. There are four bedrooms, two w/king beds and two w/double beds. There is one king and one double on each of the two floors. Each bedrooms has its own bathroom with a shower. The house has a nice living room, a good size dining room table, a decent kitchen and has a rooftop where you can enjoy drinks at sunset or coffee in the morning. There is a smaller bedroom suitable for kids w/no bathroom.

The outside areas are lovely. There is a pool in the front of the house (opposite the ocean) with a nice sitting area w/hammocks and loungers/table/chairs. In the back (ocean side) there is a table/chairs for dining and a lovely area under a canopy with shade and very comfortable outdoor furniture and hammocks.

The view of the ocean is stunning, but this house, like many others in Akumal, is not on the beach. There is a rocky access down to the water with a very small beach area to enter the water. We went snorkeling here once but not much to see. We found good snorkeling in Akumal bay (do not pay the 400 pesos...just walk down the beach a 100 ft) where we saw a lot of turtles and fish. We walked 10 min to the north for beach time where we also had some nice snorkeling (no turtles). I am afraid the beach at Akumal Bay, and Akumal itself, is going the way of Playa del Carmen and becoming commercialized. Staying at Casa dos Palmas did allow us to avoid a lot of the tourist traps and enjoy the calm and beauty.

There are restaurants in town and along half moon bay. I have been coming to Akumal for 30 years so am familiar with food options. None of them are as good as having Esther and Rico, the onsite caretakers, make meals for you. I can't say enough good things about Esther and Rico. The owners of this house are very lucky to have them. Though the house is lovely and the views magnificent, what really makes this place a gem is Esther and Rico. They prepared 5 breakfasts and 5 dinners for us. Ester's food is fabulous. They are gracious hosts, keep the place spotless and do whatever they can to help. We would all come again...mostly because of Esther and Rico.

The one downside was the concierge service the manager referred us to. Very disorganized and inaccurate information on pick up. Being quite familiar w/this airport I was disappointed with the arrangements and lack of proper information.

I'd definitely come back.

Wow--what a property! With a fantastic backyard overlooking the sea, we watched crashing waves, both from the yard and from the rooftop terrace! On one day we went snorkeling to the lagoon nearby, on another we simply enjoy the luxury of the home, listening to the cacophony of birds while lounging by the pool. The welcome basket of fruits was simply another added delight too! My wife loved breastfeeding our little on in the hammock while watching the sunrise. Because of course, he had us awake by then!

Stayed in Casa Dos Palmas. Was perfect for our family group. The house had everything we needed. Rooms and bathrooms for everyone. A fully equipped kitchen and plenty of seating inside and outside. It was very windy during our visit so the pool at the back of the house was perfect. Service from David the Locogringo concierge was prompt even on a Sunday. He organised a boat tour and rental cars for us making everything we wanted to do so easy. I suggest stopping for groceries on your way to Akumal because the local shops and restaurants are very expensive.

This was my family's 3rd year at Casa dos Palmas-beautiful location, home, amenities. But the sole reason we continue to return are the 'caretakers' who take care of us, keep the place spotless and create fabulous meals.BUT WE LOST POWER on 2 days -4 hrs and next day 7 hours-not in town either.Unless there is a transformer for the house, we might not come again.

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Dos Palmas! Very comfortable house with full amenities, picturesque view and convenient pool (great for kids).

What made our visit so special was the hospitality from the caretakers - Hugo, Eunice and their family. They were so helpful in navigating Akumal as well as providing housekeeping daily including tidying up and making fresh coffee and fruit. We hired Hugo to cook us dinner one night which was delicious as well as a unique treat for us to try homemade, local specialties. Thank you Hugo and Eunice!

This house was just what we needed. 3 siblings and one wife. Everyone had an oceanfront view and bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked. The nearly- daily fruit offering was very welcome and delicious. We had Hugo and Eunice prepare a very delicious dinner one night, fish and pork, and everything was magnificent. Be sure to order Eunice's lime pie. Couldn't have been happier and are eager to return!

We loved staying at Casa Dos Palmas. Our extended family loved the house. grounds and pool. It's close to restaurants and had everything we needed. Esther and Rigo were very attentive and helpful. Esther did not feel well so we were disappointed to miss her cooking.
Our only problem was the ants in the first floor master bedroom. We would expect ants in the kitchen, but not in the bedroom and on the bed. Rigo tried his best to help, but one person could not sleep on the side of the bed toward the closet. Other wise the house was very clean and well cared for.
We would recommend a solution of borax, sugar and water. Borax was not to be found in any store or pharmacy. It can be ordered on amazon. Rigo checked and we searched, but no luck. It's our fool proof solution at home. The manager who stopped by once was dismissive and just said it's the tropics, there are bugs. As far as I know, she made no attempt to help.
We would love to stay there again, but would bring our own ant solution. Future renters should be warned. We have not experienced this during our last 7 stays in Akumal over the years.

Perfect. The property is clean, quiet, comfortable, and convenient. The house is in a quiet neighborhood. walking distance to a number of great restaurants. Close driving distance to Playa del Carman and Tulum. We had great communications with the property manager and the caretakers were there to help with every need. We will be back!

Family vacation at Casa Dos Palmas was awesome! Pictures do not do it justice. Location is beautiful, safe and secure. Our family consisted of 8 adults and 3 children, home was very spacious and accommodating. Thank you Dos Palmas for a wonderfully stay, will definitely go back!

We were 4 couples,early would work well for families,too. Delighted with everything about the site worked well-great layout & design of bedroom & group rooms,spectular views, proximity to good restuarants,food & other shopping, good local beach.The chef is outstanding-5 star & he and his wife (who cleans daily)are kind and gracious.We will return.

This was our 2nd visit to Casos Dos Palmos-it only gets better.The back side,the ocean, is spectacular,the front side by the pool is tropical and lovely.The house has everything we needed.The caretakers who are devoted to making our stay perfect.BEST of ALL-Hugo,the chef,is amazing. It's 5* dining.We went out once in 2 weeks & the food didn't compare.

Nice spacious house with excellent friendly and helpful staff who live in a small house in the drive. Loads of space and a nice garden. You can walk to a beach to the north or access Akumal beach without paying by walking round the rocks to the south. Shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance

We had a wonderful vacation and would recommend Casa Dos Palmas to anyone. We have been to Akumal many times but this was the first time with our three adult children and their spouses. It was also the first time staying in a villa and we may be spoiled for future trips.
Esther and Rigo were so nice, they took very good care of us, the fresh orange juice in the morning and salsa and chips in the afternoon is really a nice touch.
We will always remember this special vacation.

The house was in a great location for walking to town, shops, restaurants, etc. Views are quite stunning. Not as great if using the water matters to your party-- windy and sharp rocky shore. Only our most experienced and fearless snorkeler was willing to brave the water on this stretch, eve on the calmest day.

Maintenance on house was absolutely perfect. Pool was kept sparkeling as was every inch of the house. The wireless connection and DVD and SKY TV all worked perfectly -- not common in some places we've stayed in Akumal.

Kitchen was less equipped than other similar houses - perfectly fine if you don't plan on cooking a lot or are mostly making blender drinks for a larger party. A few new tools to replace the broken or missing items would bring it to 100%. The dishwasher was nice but really didn't matter because Esther was so very on top of things :).

Esther and Rigo were the very best onsite hosts we have ever had (8 trips). Warm, helpful, terrifically interested in making our family feel welcome. We even got to sample one of their holiday Tamales. We would stay at this house again just for the opportunity to have Esther and Rigo adding their care and magic to the trip.

We need to send 2 CDs back. What was our address? All 8 of us (6 were 20-30 somethings) had our best of the last 7 years of vacations here. House, staff, location, price, bar with a swing, condition of all rooms was tops. The views and 3rd floor lookout was perfect for cigar smokers. Beautiful experience and we would go there again. Thank you.

My family absolutely loved Akumal and Casa Dos Palmas!! The home was even more beautiful than in pictures and absolutely immaculate. Ester and Rigo were SUCH a luxury to have on site - fresh squeezed juice and coffee in the mornings, pool maintenance, fresh drinking water in each bathroom to use to brush our teeth - they took care of everything! Our only regret was that we waited until the end of the week to have Ester cook!! The area was so quaint and safe, and we LOVED La Buena Vida restaurant and bar only a short walk away. We are all frequent travellers and have been to and stayed in some amazing places, but Dos Palmas and Akumal is now one of our favorites! 5 STARS all the way around!!

Casa Dos Palmas is an incredible house! Peaceful, quiet beautiful! Wonderfully maintained. Ester and Frigo are sweet bank kind. They made us a delicious meal and cut fresh fruit for us in the morning. Would love to go in the Fall when it is a little cooler.

What can I say? We wouldn't keep coming back if this weren't one of our favorite houses in Akumal. You can't beat the price, location and fantastic staff (thank you Esther and Rigo.) The Sargassum grass is a bummer but you're going to find that all over the Maya Riviera right now.

If I had to pick one advantage Casa Dos Palmas has over some of the other houses in North Akumal is the pool being in front and partially shaded. This gives you the chance to move around throughout the day and either avoid the wind or the sun given what's going on in the moment.

If you're on the fence about going with Casa Dos Palmas or another house I strongly recommend choosing Casa Dos Palmas. You won't be disappointed.
