Description

Casa Salvaje is the perfect location for a family vacation or a large group
reunion. Located on the long soft sand beach of Aventuras Akumal, Salvaje
is the place for sunbathing and sculpting monumental sand art and castles.
The sandy bottom bay offers a pristine environment for snorkeling and
swimming. Depending on the time of year, you may also be favored to
experience the emergence of turtle hatchlings from the white sands.
Remember, what happens at Salvaje, stays at Salvaje.

The Exterior:
Casa Salvaje is an inviting two story beachfront villa plus a garden guest
house that offers enough room for up to 18 guests, making Salvaje an ideal
choice for family celebrations and large group reunions.

A blue tiled sparkling swimming pool with a generous patio and deck area is
located on the beautiful ocean side of the property. Shade palapas, beach
lounge chairs, sea kayaks, and a gas grill are just a few of the patio
furnishings provided to enhance your time in the Mayan sand and sun. A
large terrace facing the ocean on the Villa's second level is perfect for
looking out over the bay or a hammock siesta! The Caribbean is your
backdrop as you hang by the pool and enjoy lazy afternoons with Margaritas
in hand.

Villa Layout:
The main level includes a full modern kitchen with breakfast bar, dining
area with seating for 12 and an adjacent entertainment area that is
comfortably furnished and equipped with a Smart + Satellite television.
From the main level a gorgeous view of the beach is courtesy of sliding
glass doors which grant access to the swimming pool, sundeck and beach.

The Villa's second level primary bedrooms are air conditioned and enjoy
private ensuite bathroom/shower. The spacious beach facing suite is
furnished with a King bed with endless ocean views and an open air terrace.
The Villa's other large split-level primary suite has lush garden views and
is furnished with a King bed plus a Queen bed, which are separated by a low
partition wall.

The Villa's main level bedrooms are air conditioned and have unlimited
access to the swimming pool, deck and beach through sliding glass doors.
One bedroom is furnished with a King bed and private ensuite
bathroom/shower and the other bedroom is furnished with a Queen bed with
access to a bathroom/shower.

Garden Guest House Layout:
The garden Guest House offers three welcoming air conditioned rooms with
private ensuite bathroom/shower, all enjoying views of the lush garden. The
lower level offers a spacious room furnished with two Queen beds. The two
upper level rooms have access to an open air terrace and are each furnished
with a King bed.

Our stay was perfect! House and grounds were beautiful. We went in the “sea weed” season but it was not a problem at all! Air conditioning was great in the bedrooms. House keeper and gardener were fantastic. The area was beautiful and we felt safe. We rented cars and had one group picked up from the airport without any problems. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much!

The property was in a great location... It was turtle nesting season and we saw many turtles nesting as well as babies being released, very exciting. The beach is right there, the sand leading right up to the steps to the house. The water was shallow enough, as well as calm enough for the younger guests to enjoy. The maid and the grounds man were very efficient and unintrusive and quite helpful with helping to figure out transportation as well as local places to visit. Overall an epic trip and a wonderful time.

We had absolutely the best time staying at this property. It was perfect for a larger group- we ended up using the main house and three rooms in the guest house (very close). Everything was exactly as pictured and maintained so well by the groundskeeper as well as the housekeeper- both were incredibly kind and even helped us when we wanted to arrange a chef to come to the house. The kitchen wasn't the biggest but it was made better by having two refrigerators. It was amazing to have a house right on the beach with a pool; we spent so much time lounging on the beach and walked to the local beach bar many times. It literally was a private beach! We felt safe and secure. We also really appreciated the guidebook with local recommendations and tips. It was a very quick drive to the local town but a bit farther to a supermarket. Overall, an amazing property. Highly recommend.

We loved everything about our stay at Casa Salvaje! Being able to walk right to the ocean was amazing. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was easy to cook in. Our large extended family of 9 adults and 7 kids stayed here for a week. We wanted something different than the "all-inclusive experience". This place definitely exceeded our expectations. Staff, Betty and Aurelio were great and the house and back house were perfect for our large extended family. The pool was spotless and the pristine beach couldn't have been better for the kids. The calm, clear ocean provided great snorkeling with tropical fish. A few snorkels were provided but bring your own masks. Beach towels are also provided, which is handy. Kitchen is stocked with lots of cookware and a few essentials such as salt/pepper/oil. No amenities around unless you drive 5-7 minutes to a nearby town. This fabulous accommodation helped to make our vacation very memorable. Would definitely recommend!

This is our 4 year in a row renting Casa Salvaje. We can’t recommend it enough, especially for families with kids. The pool and beach are so stunning and perfect to entertain a family. Access to sea kayaks is a bonus! The care takers, Betty & Arullio, are so kind and keep the property spotless. We highly recommend booking a chef through Jorge, the property manager too. We will be back next year!

This was our third time at Casa Salvaje, and we're definitely booking again for next year. We love this house, the beach and Akumal. It's perfect for several families with kids when you add on the garden suites. Betty, the housekeeper, and Aurelio, the gardner, are the kindest people and we look forward to see them annually. It truly is a hidden gem!

Also, Jorge, the house manager is quick to respond and fix any issues. This year we had a little problem with water pressure and they fixed it asap.

We can't wait to return!

Very pleased with the house and the location. The gardener and the housekeeper were great; did a excellent job of keeping the grounds and house clean without causing any disruption. Can not comment on the management company as we had no interaction with them. Be aware that coming down the stairs from the bedrooms located on the second floor can be tricky for older people as handrail does not extend all the way to the top of the stairs. The house was in a great location for restaurants and other sights including seeing loggerhead turtles that come upon the beach at night to lay eggs, which was amazing. Highly recommend the house, we had a fantastic time.

Perfect vacation for our family of 15 (ages 11-75). Everything was wonderful. Great location, house, and staff. We asked so many questions before and after arrival and they always got back to us right away! We felt safe and spoiled by the staff. We were there during the “seaweed” season but it wasn’t a problem at all! The gardener raked the beach daily and we enjoyed the ocean! Many pool and sand toys to use. We hired Chef Daveed and the food was spectacular. We would definitely visit again!

We had a great time staying at Casa Salvaje. The caretakers did a very good job keeping everything neat and clean and making quick repairs when needed. Keeping up with the sargassum was a monumental task, but handled with a smile. Access to the pool is limited to going around the side of the house, or passing through one or another of two bedrooms. This isn't always the most convenient thing. Everything we needed was in the house, making it very comfortable for everyone. Plenty of room for our group of 12. Snorkeling was terrific, but the beach bar down the way was frequently overwhelmed so eating there was difficult. Altogether, we would rent again if the price was right.

We stayed at Casa Salvaje for one week. The house exceeded our expectations! It is absolutely beautiful! The house is large and spacious, no stone was unturned in term of attention to detail. We were a group of 9, including 7 kids ages 15 - 24, everyone loved the place! The pool is great, and there is no beating the close beach access. Bring your snorkel gear and dive right in, steps from the house. Betty and Aurelio were lovely and helpful. There is a cute little bar/restaurant a short 5 minute walk on the beach that we enjoyed a few times for happy hour. One thing to know is that you do need a car to drive into town but it's a quick trip. Recommend renting a car if you stay here. We would definitely stay there again! Love, love the house and it's location!

We stayed at Casa Salvaje for the first week of November and it was fantastic! There were 5 couples and plenty of room. It was so clean and was cleaned every week day from top to bottom. The beach is beautiful, and you can swim right out to the reef for some of the best snorkeling ever. We actually saw baby turtles that hatched on the beach one night. The gardener cut down coconuts for us to drink one morning. We hired the chef to do dinner for us 2 of the nights and wish we would have done more. We really enjoyed our day at Xplor and our trip to the ruins in Coba. Everyone agreed that having a pool and beach with snorkeling right there to use anytime was the highlight.

This was our second year at Casa Salvaje and it's our favorite! The pool and beach are so perfect for our kids. We absolutely love Akumal and even had a couple fun trips to Tulum. I couldn't recommend the accommodations, location or experience more!

We loved our stay at this beautiful house right on the beach! What a great place to be with family. The house was perfect for our large group, and we spent many hours swimming, sitting by the pool and on the beach. Having the Beached Bikini Bar just down the beach was perfect for easy meals. The property managers were incredible in helping us plan excursions, transportation, and catered meals. Betty and Aurelio kept the place in tip-top shape and super clean every day. The location is pretty isolated, so you’ll be needing taxis. My recommendation is to agree on a price with the taxi driver prior to the ride, and pay separately for each leg. They’ll charge you for waiting in between rides if you aren’t careful! Otherwise everything was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this house!

Our party of 11 (9 adults 2 children) had a wonderful time on the property. David held our hand throughout the booking process. The chef was amazing. Betty made sure the inside was thoroughly cleaned daily. The groundsman (sorry I forgot his name) made sure the pool and outside of the property was cleaned. Then our “security” guy always met us at the entrance. There was enough space for everyone to gather and also have privacy. We were literally right on the beach. Everyone loved it. The road leading to the property is super dark bumpy so be careful coming in. They property provides bottled water in all the bathrooms since we cannot drink the water. Betty offered to wash clothes. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. You definitely need a rental car to get around. There is a cute beach bar about 2-3 doors down. Everything was perfect for our week long stay. I was pleasantly surprised with the security and upkeep of the property. It was centrally located to many attractions and was on a quiet section of a great beach. With on onsite nighttime security guard, we always felt secure and the property was regularly maintained by the housekeeper and maintenance person.

There were many nearby cenotes but I could recommend the Rio Secreto as it was a well preserved cenote and had great, safe and attentive guides.

We had a wonderful week away at this lovely beach home. The home has a beautiful view of the ocean. You step right onto your own private beach with loungers & plenty of shady spots if needed. The house was very comfortable & the staff very helpful.

We could not be happier with this rental, the company, the staff, the location, each and every factor contributed to an extremely happy group and a truly lovely vacation experience.

To start, we actually had another property booked and when due to COVID-19 that owner took the property off the market, Akumal Direct, the management company offered us Casa Salvaje at the same price, which was superb customer service and candidly a great deal. During all the rebooking and communications Katie and the team @ Akumal Direct went above and beyond. They were timely, courteous and clear in all their communication.

As for the house itself, it is in amazing shape, the location is superb, and if I might say Aurelio the groundskeeper and Betty the housekeeper were kind, very hardworking and also unobtrusive. Betty was actually a saint if we are being honest, if you stay please DO NOT FORGET TO TIP THEM GENEROUSLY. We actually did not need or desire Betty to clean everyday so we asked for an every other day situation which worked well. The rooms, the bathrooms, the kitchen and living room are all amazingly well stocked, with the casita perfect. The private beach is unreal and we had some excellent recommendations for local food and services like a fishing trip with Sweet Willy which was 1/4 the cost of other outfits. We were a group of singles so we each had a room which was amazing, but this house is equally as good a fit for an extended family with kids, or couples. Plenty of bathrooms and amenities. They had bath towels to spare, pool toys, beach chairs, a fully stocked kitchen, refilled water cooler every day. Aurelio even cut us coconuts. The snorkeling in the reefs right off the beach is majestic.

TL:DR the property is even better than described, extremely clean and well maintained and the service from management was impeccable. The recommendations and location of local activities like Coba, Tulum, Valladolid, Cenotes, grocery stores and more is ha
