Starting January 26, 2021, new guidelines established by the CDC will go into effect for all international flights to the U.S. Airlines will ask travelers to present an electronic or paper copy with negative test results for the novelle Covid-19 virus. The order states test results must be dated within 3 days from the return flight and also applies to all U.S. citizens flying out of Cancun, Mexico.
Testing sites located throughout the coast will be providing verifiable test results within 30minutes to 16 hours. Rapid agent tests are available in Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Akumal for about $40 to $90 USD. Visitors staying in Akumal or nearby areas can visit the local testing site to obtain the documentation needed to board their return flight home. Given the high volume of people requiring test results, travelers are advised to make reservations at least 7 days in advance.

In order to help you better plan for your vacation, we are proud to announce that we now have a new testing site in Akumal. The Rapid Antigen Tests are available for $39 per test. The testing site will be open on Mondays from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and Fridays from 4 PM to 6 PM. A $20 deposit and advance reservations are required.
